Step by step preparation of dried shpanki, recipe with photo:
1. Sort out the spanking, sorting out spoiled, rotten, soft and damaged berries. For drying, take only even, ripe and whole fruits. Tear off the ponytails from the selected shpanki, place it in a sieve and wash.
If the berries are purchased, I recommend soaking them for a few minutes in salted water to remove worms if they are present in the fruits.
2. Spread it out on a clean cotton towel and leave to dry completely.
3. Transfer the berries to a baking sheet and place in a preheated oven to 70 degrees for 5 hours. Stir and turn the berries every hour to dry evenly on all sides. During drying, keep the oven door open at all times to allow air circulation.
4. When finished drying, it will become wrinkle-resistant. It should remain soft and elastic without sticking to your hands. When the spanking is done, remove it from the oven and cool to room temperature. Fold it in a paper bag or glass jar and store at room temperature in a dark place.
Note: Spanking can be dried outside. If the weather is hot and dry, it will dry out perfectly. To do this, cover the baking sheet with berries with a gauze cloth so that dust and midges do not sit on it. Drying time can take from 2 to 5 days, depending on the size of the berries and the temperature outside. Every day, take the crap out in the sun and put it in the house for the night.
Also, if you have an electric dryer, you can dry the shpanku in it. The instructions for a modern device include many recipes on how to do it correctly.
