Step by step cooking shank in soy sauce:
1. Onions with garlic, peel, wash and chop into strips. Put the pan on the stove, add oil and heat well. Send the onion and garlic into it.
2. Heat vegetables slightly over medium heat and add ginger powder, nutmeg and brown sugar.
3. In medium heat, sauté the onion until transparent, stirring occasionally.
4. Wash the pork knuckle and scrape it off with a brush if it has a black tan. Dry it with a paper towel, rub with salt and pepper and place in the pan. Be careful with the amount of salt, as the recipe uses soy sauce, and it is already quite salty.
5. Fry it on all sides over medium heat to brown the skin.
6. Pour the shank with soy sauce, cover with cling foil and send directly to the pan into the heated oven for 1.5 hours. At the same time, water it with melted juice and soy sauce every 15 minutes.
7. Half an hour before cooking, remove the foil so that the shank is well browned. Serve hot. Serve the shank with vegetable salad and mashed potatoes, or, as is customary in European countries (Czech Republic and Germany), with a glass of dark frothy beer.
