Let us repeat that it is consumed fresh very rarely and carefully due to the high probability of allergic reactions. But since this is how it is most useful for health, the berries can be grated with sugar and added to various baked goods, or you can cook compotes and spread on bread. To do this, for 1 kg of bedbugs, which must be washed and dried in advance on a towel, you need to take 500 g of sugar. After combining them, the mass should be allowed to stand for about an hour, and then grind it thoroughly with a spoon.

Krasnika perfectly tolerates freezing, so it can be harvested in advance for the winter. To do this, the berries should be well washed, dried, folded into small plastic containers, covered with cling film and sent to the freezer. It is allowed to store them here for up to a year, since if this period is exceeded, the taste is gradually lost, and the benefits become less.

Various syrups, compotes, preserves, and jams are also prepared from raw redberries. It can be either not diluted with any other ingredients besides sugar, or combined with various fruits and berries. It adjoins very well with apples, oranges, gooseberries, pears, peaches, raspberries.

  • Syrup … Pour well-washed berries (1 kg) into a deep saucepan with a volume of at least 3 liters. Then add sugar (2 kg) and stir the mixture with a spoon. Cover it with a lid and store it in your basement or refrigerator for 5 days. Shake the mixture every evening so that it is evenly distributed over the container. As a result, you will get a mixture that will need to be poured, strain through a sieve to exclude lumps from undissolved sugar and consume 2-3 tbsp. l.every day or add to your favorite dishes, for example, oatmeal or cottage cheese.
  • Jam … To prepare it, pour boiling water over the berries (1 kg), cover with sugar (1.5 kg) and leave for 2 hours. Then, in an enamel saucepan, place them on the stove to simmer for an average of 1.5 hours. All this time, the mass should be stirred to prevent burning. After the specified time has elapsed, remove it from the heat, cool it, put it in sterilized jars, roll it up and after 2-3 days of being warm, send it to the basement or refrigerator. It can be either spread on bread or added to various dishes, primarily dairy products and pastries.
  • Jam with apples … First, rub the redberry (1.5 kg) with sugar (2 kg) with a spoon. Then peel the red sweet apples (500 g), chop and grate. Combine both ingredients and let sit for about two hours. After that, stir the mixture well and put on high heat, and when it boils, reduce it. Then cover the pan with a lid and leave the mixture on the fire for an average of 1.5 hours, stirring occasionally to avoid burning.
  • Berry and fruit puree … Peel apples (2), banana (1) and pear (1). Grind them and beat with a blender into a gruel. Add raw whole berries there, stir the mixture, sprinkle with almonds and crumbs of any dry biscuit, top it all with plain yogurt.

At the same time, at any time before the establishment of stable warm weather, frost can trap it, which can be fatal for redberries. The plant is unstable to low temperatures (over -6 ° C) and when it gets cold it announces this by freezing berries, leaves, flowers.

Krasnika, although it usually grows wild in the forests of Primorsky or Khabarovsk Territories, can be easily grown in a different climatic zone. For example, this culture has taken root quite well in summer cottages in the Moscow region.

In order for her to survive, for the winter she is covered with a double layer of plastic wrap or spunbond, and this protection is removed only closer to May. This gives it even more beauty, since after such storage, the leaves acquire a crimson rim around the edges.
