Sangria is the most famous wine-based low alcohol summer drink. It is especially popular in Spain and Portugal. Properly prepared sangria should not intoxicate, but on the contrary invigorates and refreshes. There are many recipes for sangria, so there is simply no single wrong recipe. At the same time, traditional products and the general approach of cooking are distinguished:
- Wine is bought dry and inexpensive.
- The basic principle of cooking: pieces of fruit, pour over with wine and insist them for several hours.
- Wine must be diluted with: mineral water, juice, lemonade.
- Carbonated water, juice or other liquid is added to the drink before serving.
- Served ready-made sangria in large jugs.
In addition, you can often find in the sangria recipe added a couple of tablespoons of brandy or cognac. Sometimes sugar is added, which is poured over the fruit, and also a citrus note is added, which is used as lemon, orange, lime, etc.

- Dry red wine - 500 ml
- Strawberry - 100 g
- Carnation - 4 buds
- Mineral water - 200 ml

Step by step cooking sangria with strawberries and cherries, recipe with photo:
1. Wash the strawberries, dry with a paper towel, cut off the tails and cut into 4-5 slices.
2. Wash the cherries, dry them and cut off the tails. Use a toothpick on each berry to make several punctures so that the juice comes out of them.
3. Place the fruit in a large decanter. If you wish, add sugar, pour it in, mix with the fruit and let stand for half an hour so that the berries let the juice out and the sugar melts. Then add all the herbs and spices to the carafe.
4. Pour the fruit with spices with wine, stir and leave to infuse at room temperature for 2-3 hours. You can also stand the drink overnight, but then put it in the refrigerator. Pour mineral water into the finished sangria with strawberries and cherries and stir. You can add ice instead of water. It will cool and dilute the drink well.
