Volumetric quilling "Lake"

As always, you must first prepare what you need so that everything is at hand. Then, during the creative process, you will not have to be distracted. If some material or tool is missing, you can replace it.
In order to start doing quilling step by step, you will need:
- scissors;
- PVA glue and a brush for it;
- corrugated green paper;
- ruler for quilling or officer;
- a toothpick or awl or other tool for twisting the strips;
- quilling paper or colored double-sided.
If you do not have the main material, then using a ruler and a clerical knife, cut the colored sheets along the entire length into strips of 3 mm wide and use them as quilling paper.
These are the colors that will be used to create the volumetric work: green, blue, brown, gray. If there is no tone, replace it with another. So, instead of blue, you can use blue, instead of gray, brown.
For the craft, you need a base, a large empty candy box is perfect for this. If you do not have one, create a picture on a sheet of thick cardboard. The work begins with decorating the base. If a box acts as it, then cut the corrugated paper into strips of 3 cm with a fringe of 1 cm. Glue them to the inner edges of the box, and a sheet of blue paper to its bottom.

From blue paper, twist several loose spirals with a diameter of 16 mm. Determine their size using the round holes of the ruler. The details of frogs are created in the same way, but from green paper. For the paws of the animal, turn the 6 free spiral parts into blanks called the drop. To do this, simply press the blanks on one side with your fingers.
Now take strips of gray 14 mm long, twist each one first in the form of a free spiral, then press with your fingers so that the outer edges form a square. These blanks will act as stones around the water.
You can wind quilling paper on an awl, rod, toothpick. If not, use other available materials of the same small diameter.
To make reeds, wind brown strips 7 cm long and 2 cm wide on the top of the toothpicks, while gluing them. Glue ribbons of green paper to the reeds, which will become the leaves of the aquatic plants.

To do this, create 4 "drop" parts, glue them together, attach one small free spiral next to it. Glue these lower legs in place. For the upper ones, it is enough to make two large blanks in the form of a drop, attach them to the PVA as shown in the photo.
To make the eyes, cut 2 circles out of white paper, glue two smaller black pupil circles on them, attach them to the frog's head.

How quilling boxes are made

For such a beautiful box, you need a minimum of material and equipment, these are:
- white and brown quilling paper;
- scissors;
- cardboard;
- glue;
- a paper rolling device or its analogs, which are at home.
For a template, cut a heart out of cardboard. Roll barrels from strips of white paper. For this quilling box, 42 pieces were needed. If you have not purchased a special tool for this type of creativity, you already know what you can replace it with.
Now apply the curls around the perimeter of the heart while gluing them together.
You need to make 3 hearts out of white paper.

Here's how to make barrels and curls. They are needed in order to form the bottom of the box. By gluing the brown parts together, you get it. They should fit inside the first heart blank.
Fill in the second heart blank in the same way. This will be the top of the box. Now you need to glue 6 barrels vertically to the third workpiece. 3 on one side and on the other, superimposing them on top of each other.
When the glue dries, turn this third workpiece over and attach it with PVA to the first one, which is the bottom of the box, made by hand.

Crafts using the quilling technique - candy bowl
You will have such a wonderful basket for sweets in 1-2 hours of work. To create it you will need:
- quilling tools;
- pins;
- glue and brush;
- lilac, white and black quilling paper.
For work, you also need a base to give the candy bowl a shape. It can be round, rectangular or heart-shaped, as in the presented master class.
Start by rolling the black paper quilling tape. When it is over, glue the edge of the white strip to its tip, wrap it around the black core. Now attach the lilac edge to the remaining free edge of the white strip with glue, wrap the round blank with it.
Make several of these details, cover the selected base with them.
If you still do not work much in the quilling technique, then it is better to first attach the parts to the base with pins so that you can align the blanks. When you do, then glue them down.
If you want the quilling details to be visible both from the front and the wrong side, then use the form only as a template. After gluing the basket elements together, remove them from the mold when the glue dries. As a result, you will have such a wonderful candy bowl, in which you can store not only sweets, but also all sorts of little things, for example, keys.
So that there are no gaps in it, glue the same ones between large blanks, but small ones, they will fill the holes.
How a butterfly is created using the quilling technique
For needlework, you will need a quilling kit. It should include strips of yellow, red, brown, orange paper. If you have different shades, then you get a butterfly of a different color, but it will be no less charming.
It is not difficult to make such a quilling for beginners, with the description and the presented photos, the process will become easier and more fun. First draw a butterfly on the album sheet, you can enlarge the next photo and use it as a basis.
Cover it with clear cellophane, place it on a wooden board and pin it to it. Now we start making quilling elements for the upper right wing. Twist the yellow tape into a spiral, glue the beginning of the red strip of paper to its free edge. Twist it into a spiral, then press on one side to create a drop element. Make 3 such blanks.
From paper strips of yellow color you need to make a "semicircle" element. For this, the workpiece is given a flat bottom and a semicircular shape at the top.
Glue these parts together as shown in the photo. To make a wing, attach the blank to the template, attach with pins. Glue one more element at the bottom called "drop", and at the top - 3 such details.
