For the back, fold the canvas in half, match the center of the pattern detail on the right with the fold. Cut it with seam allowances and cut it exactly the same from the same fabric. Between these two blanks, put a synthetic winterizer, which is cut out in the same way.
The back of a butterfly potholder consists of two layers of fabric, and a synthetic winterizer is located between them. Also, each wing of an insect consists of three layers. For these details, use the pattern on the left.
Please note that the right and left fenders are cut in mirror image, and the sintepon is cut without a seam allowance in the center. The photo also shows small details, they must be cut out of fabric of a different color. Now you can start sewing. Stitch small details to the wings. The exact measurements are given on this pattern. Enlarge it, attach a sheet of paper to the computer monitor, redraw it. You can use the dimensions given on the pattern and also get a template. How to sew an "Merry Sunflower" potholder?
To make such a fun kitchen item, you need:
- satin ribbons of different colors 5–6 cm wide;
- floss threads;
- synthetic winterizer;
- thick cotton fabric.
From satin ribbons, you need to cut squares and fold them in half diagonally. Iron these blanks well. You should get:
- 22 yellow triangles;
- 16 green;
- 8 orange triangles.
Calculations are given for a base with a diameter of 19 cm. You will cut it out of dense cotton material.
Having retreated 1 cm from the edge of this blank, stitch green triangular petals around its entire circle. They should overlap, that is, you will put the second petal on the first so that it overlaps it by 7-10 mm.
In the same way, but from the triangular blanks of yellow and orange, create a second row of petals above the first. The third will consist of only yellow petals.
