The article describes the types of installation of the tank to the toilet, as well as the types of water supply to it. Modern tanks are made from a variety of materials, have different volumes and can take even the most intricate shape. But the most popular is the white ceramic cistern, since the main features of plumbing equipment should still be reliability and functionality.

Before installing the drain tank, you need to decide on its type. Experts distinguish between four main types of cisterns.

  • The most popular type is the "compact" design, in which the cistern is attached to the back of the toilet with a rubber cuff.
  • The second type is a one-piece construction, in which the cistern is a one-piece structure with a toilet bowl.
  • The third type is a separate design, in which the toilet is at the bottom, and a tank is located on top, connected to it with a pipe.
  • Tankless technology is a design with many disadvantages, therefore it is rarely used and represents the fourth type of tanks.

Installation of the cistern

The first way to install the cistern is to attach it to the toilet with a rubber sleeve and special bolts.

The second method is to attach the free-standing cistern to the toilet using a special water pipe. This method is rarely used due to the unattractive appearance of such a design.

The third method is a hidden installation of the tank, in which it hides behind the wall of the toilet. The advantages of this method are the hiding of the aesthetically unattractive element of the toilet bowl behind the wall, as well as saving the useful space of the room. The only visible element of the tank is the water drain button, through which the repair of the water tank itself is carried out. After installing the tank, it is necessary to supply water to it for the mechanism to work properly. There are two main ways to carry out this procedure:

  1. Water supply with a reinforced hose. In this case, care must be taken to ensure that the hose is not taut and that the threaded connections are sealed with fum tape.
  2. Connection of the water reservoir to the water supply network using a rigid connecting pipe.

All work on the installation of the tank can be done with your own hands if you have the necessary tools. The main thing is to make a structure with the most tight joints and no dangling elements.
