Modern building technologies combine economic benefits, low labor intensity, technical requirements and versatility. One of these technologies is the construction of a foundation on screw piles.
Pile-screw foundations are widely used in private buildings and are of particular interest in the construction of houses. It is lightweight, made of wood, frame, aerated concrete, foam concrete and brick. In addition, the pile-screw foundation can be used in the construction of gazebos, baths, fences, pavilions or temporary structures.

Any private developer will appreciate the advantages of a screw foundation:
- absence of seasonal restrictions, economic benefit (reduction of the foundation cost by 50-100% in comparison with other technologies);

To avoid the risk of the house sinking on screw piles, it is better to play it safe - add another 20-30 percent to the calculated foundation power.
Selection of screw piles
These piles are most often made of metal with an anti-corrosion coating, but there are also piles made of plastic. Piles differ in size, that is, in length (up to 11.6 meters) and in diameter, type and area of the helical blade.
Do-it-yourself installation of the screw foundation is carried out with a manual device for screwing piles into the ground, or with the help of special electrical equipment.
Installation of the screw foundation
Installation of the foundation on screw piles can be done by hand. After marking the foundation, where it is necessary to take into account the need for the presence of piles at the intersection of two or more walls of the structure, the foundation is screwed into the ground to the required depth (usually it is the depth of soil freezing in the region) in accordance with the project. For greater strength and bearing capacity, the pile cavity can be poured with concrete of grade M200 and higher with additional reinforcement, which will subsequently connect the pile with the strapping.
In accordance with the project, screw piles are tied in various ways: with a tape concrete grillage, channel, I-beam or strapping beam. The whole process of building a pile-screw foundation takes 1-3 days. Screw piles can be part of a strip-and-column foundation, glass-type or slab.
