However, if you stew them together, adding more vegetables and gravy, then the treat will become truly festive. And although the main stages of cooking do not change, there are a large number of recipes for cooking roast.

The secret of this dish is that the products used are cooked for the same amount of time, which gives them the opportunity to reveal themselves as much as possible. It is best to buy meat for a roast fat, it will give a lot of juice in which the potatoes can soak well. In addition to the main components, carrots must be present in the roast, but the rest of the products can be added as desired. This can be onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, garlic, mushrooms, eggplants, or olives.

An important link in a delicious roast is a gravy, which is made from the main ingredient - meat broth. However, in order for it to be tasty, it needs to be seasoned with tomato paste or sour cream and spices must be added. For example, mushroom, meat or garlic seasoning, bay leaf, pepper and other spices to taste.

You can cook roasts in portioned pots, a slow cooker, or a saucepan with a thick bottom and walls. Greens, sour cream or crackers are added to the finished dish, if desired.

  • Meat - 1 kg
  • Potatoes - 4 pcs.
  • Carrots - 2 pcs.
  • Garlic - 3 cloves
  • Tomato - 1 pc.
  • Sour cream - 2 tablespoons
  • Tomato paste - 3 tablespoons
  • Bay leaf - 3 leaves

  • Allspice peas - 5 peas
  • Dried celery root - 1 tsp (can replace 50 g fresh root)
  • Ground nutmeg - pinch
  • Ground black pepper - pinch or to taste
  • Salt to taste

Homemade roast with spices

1. First of all, prepare all the food. Wash the meat, cut off the foil and cut it into pieces about 3-3.5 cm in size.

You can choose any type of meat for this dish. But, as experienced cooks say, the rump, the shoulder of the shoulder blade, the thick edge of the back and shank are best suited for stewing.

7. If you fried food in a pan, then transfer them to the pan, as they will then be stewed. Add to them tomato, garlic, bay leaf, tomato paste, sour cream, dried celery root, peppercorns, ground nutmeg, salt, black pepper and cover everything with water.

8. Stir everything well so that the spices are evenly distributed, close the pan tightly with a lid and boil the broth. Then reduce the heat to low and simmer the roast for about 1-1.5 hours.
