Therefore, it should be included in your menu as often as possible. But before you start cooking beans, you need to choose the right one. Pay attention to the pods, they should be of the same ripeness, preferably young specimens. They can be identified by their color: pale yellow or pale green. High-quality pods are elastic, non-viscous, without lethargy and dryness. Overripe pods take longer to cook than lose some of the vitamins. They are fibrous and not as delicate. It is forbidden to use raw green beans, because in its raw form, it contains harmful substances.

Step by step preparation of boiled green beans, recipe with photo:
1. Sort the green beans, removing brown and spoiled stems, also cut off the dark areas. Place it in a sieve and wash it under running water.
2. Transfer the fruit to a cooking pot.
3. Top with water to cover the pods by 1 finger and season with salt to taste. Although salt is not necessary.
4. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5-7 minutes until tender. If the pods are large or old, then they boil for 10 minutes. To prevent fresh beans from losing their color after drying, cook them under a closed lid.
5. Tip it over in a colander to drain excess moisture. This is especially important if the pods continue to freeze.
6. Cut off the ends on both sides and use the boiled green beans for all kinds of dishes.

: Green beans can be cooked in other modern appliances:
- Steamer. To do this, put it in a container of a double boiler in 1-2 layers. Pour water into the special water compartment. Set the steamer to the boil mode for 15 minutes, for large pods - 20-25 minutes.
- Microwave. Place the pods in a microwave safe dish, cover with boiling water and microwave. Boil it for 1.5 minutes at 800-900 watts, large and old pods - 2-2.5 minutes.
