Ingredients:
- Veal - 1 kg (another type of meat is possible)
- Salt - 0.5 tsp or to taste
- Garlic - 1-2 cloves
- Ground black pepper - a pinch
- Dried or fresh cilantro and basil - small bunch
- Mustard - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 2-3 tablespoons
Step-by-step preparation of veal meatloaf with spices, recipe with photo:
1. Wash the meat, cut off the film with veins and cut the piece so that it can be unfolded in an even layer. If there are empty gaps, patch them up with small pieces of meat. Use a hammer to beat the veal on both sides.
2. Brush a layer of meat with soy sauce and mustard. Season with salt and ground black pepper.
3. Peel and chop the garlic. Wash and chop the greens. Sprinkle the veal layer with garlic and herbs.
4. Roll the meat into a roll, pressing firmly against it.
5. To prevent the roll from losing its shape and disintegrating during baking, tie it spirally with threads (kitchen or sewing) or fasten it with skewers.
6. Place the roll in a baking dish greased with vegetable oil, cover with foil and send to a heated oven to 180 degrees for 40 minutes. If you want the roll to have a golden brown crust, then 10 minutes before the end of cooking, remove the foil so that it is browned. Serve the roll hot or chilled.
