Few people dare to take a mushroom into their basket, which can be called a mushroom with a stretch: no cap, no legs. But deer horns, or as they are often called, “coral mushroom”, are the most delicious mushroom specimen that you can safely take with you from the forest. Such mushrooms can be boiled, fried, stewed, pickled, added to the filling for pies - in a word, do as with all other familiar mushrooms. But today I would like to offer you a recipe that uses just such unusual mushrooms. Let's make a reindeer horn salad. Combined with fresh cucumber or pepper, as well as a boiled egg, this delicious mushroom will create an unexpectedly appetizing and visually interesting appetizer, in which the deer horns themselves will be the star of the dish.

Ingredients:
- Deer horns - 300 g
- Chicken egg - 2 pcs.
- Cucumber - 1 pc.
- Sweet bell pepper - 1 pc. (optional)
- Salt, pepper - to taste
- Mayonnaise - 2-3 tbsp. l.
Step-by-step preparation of reindeer horn salad
We sort out the mushrooms and, where necessary, cut off part of the leg with pieces of turf. Like any other forest mushroom, we subject the antlers to preliminary heat treatment: we boil them in slightly salted water for 15 minutes.
Let the boiled deer horns cool slightly and cut them into small pieces.
We will cook and cool the eggs in advance. Break the shells to make them easy to clean. As soon as boil the eggs and remove them from the heat, cover with cold water and let stand for 5-7 minutes. Water will get between the protein and the film under the shell, this will help you easily peel the egg with almost one stroke. Cut the eggs into medium cubes and add to the mushrooms.
Wash the fresh cucumber, cut as you like, and also add to the salad. You can substitute or complement the cucumber with bell peppers.
Season the salad with mayonnaise, salt and pepper the appetizer to your liking. Stir.
Serve the prepared salad in a serving platter. If you are hosting a buffet reception, arrange the reindeer horn salad over waffle tartlets for guests to grab.
