Herring is considered to be a rather fatty fish, but at the same time its calorie content is 220 kcal, which is significantly less than beef and pork. In addition, it contains healthy fats Omega-3, which slow down the aging process and the development of cardiovascular diseases. And if you use herring 3 times a week, then the likelihood of stroke and heart attack will significantly decrease.
Herring is a rather specific product. However, this does not prevent it from being perfectly combined with many other products. For example, boiled vegetables such as potatoes, beets and carrots go well with herring. Various greens and onions are suitable for it. Dress such salads with mayonnaise or vegetable oil with vinegar. Also, the taste of the salad will depend on the herring used - salted, slightly salted or spicy salting.
Today, there are already many recipes for herring salads. But before you start cooking them, you should choose the right fish. Herring should be stored in a dark place, for example, in a barrel or dark vacuum packaging. Because when exposed to light, the fish quickly loses many useful properties.

1. Peel the onions, wash and chop finely into half rings. Place it in a deep bowl, pour in vinegar and warm water. Stir and leave to marinate while you handle the rest of the food. Do not forget to stir the onions from time to time. If you do not have white onions, then you can replace them with regular ones.

3. Wash the fillets, dry with a paper towel and cut into cubes about 1 cm in size.
4. Wash green onions, dry and chop.
5. Boil eggs hard-boiled. Then refrigerate, peel and cut into cubes.

This dish has an expressive taste and aroma, as well as a festive look. I also note that since herring is in harmony with many products, this salad can be supplemented with other products to taste and desire. For example, you can put boiled potatoes for satiety, boiled carrots for brightness, and canned peas for piquancy.
