A hearty, tender, tasty, popular and favorite dish of many - veal with potatoes and plum sauce in the oven. Step-by-step recipe with a photo. Video recipe.
Baked veal with potatoes and plum sauce is the easiest dish to cook in the oven and feed the whole family. There are no tricks or subtleties here. This is the most commonplace dish - baked meat and baked potatoes, but how delicious it comes out! The dish is suitable for family lunches and dinners, and it is not a shame to put it on the festive table..
Veal is used here for baking, but any piece of pork or any other type of meat will do. Before sending the meat to the oven, you can pre-marinate it in a sauce, and if there is no free time, then skip this process, and immediately send it to bake. This recipe uses plum sauce to coat the meat. Thanks to the acidity of the fruit, the meat fibers soften well, become tender and melt in the mouth. Therefore, using plum sauce, the meat does not need to be pre-marinated, which reduces the overall cooking time. Plum sauce can be used fresh or canned. It is also suitable for industrial production. And in the season of this berry, you can simply twist the fresh berries, then season the fruit puree with spices, mix and season the meat.

Step by step cooking veal with potatoes with plum sauce in the oven, recipe with photo:
1. Peel the potatoes and wash them under running water. Dry the tubers with a paper towel, cut into slices (as for peasant potatoes) and put them in a baking dish.
2. Season the potatoes with salt, black pepper, dried garlic and green onions.
3. Wash the meat, dry it with a paper towel, cut off the excess (films with veins) and cut into pieces, like for chops.
4. Use a hammer to beat the meat on both sides to soften the fibers. You can pre-fry the veal in a skillet without oil to "fix" the juice inside.
5. Cover the potatoes with chunks of meat. Season it with salt, black pepper and spices.
6. Drizzle the soy and plum sauces over the veal.
The chosen stage of preparation of the dish depends on the quality and freshness of the meat. If it is tender and steamy, simply chop and beat off. If tough and old, marinate or sauté for juiciness.
7. Close the dish with a lid or food foil and send to a preheated oven to 180 degrees for 1 hour.
8. Serve the cooked baked veal with potatoes and plum sauce in the oven after cooking and freshly cooked.
