Step by step preparation of mashed potato pancakes:
1. Peel and rinse potatoes. If there are black specks or eyes, cut them all out.
2. Cut the potatoes into cubes and place in the cooking pot.
3. Add the peeled onion. If desired, for taste, you can put bay leaves, peppercorns, a clove of garlic and other spices in the broth.
4. Pour potatoes with potable water and cook on the stove.
5. Boil, reduce the temperature to low, season with salt, cover the pot and cook the potatoes for about 15-20 minutes until tender. The exact cooking time depends on the size of the potato pieces. Check the readiness of the tubers with a puncture with a knife or fork. Appliances should easily fit into the vegetable.
6. When the potatoes are cooked, pour all the liquid into the pans. Pour a small part of it into a glass.
7. Take a pusher and grind the potatoes to a puree-like consistency, breaking all the lumps so that the mass is guaranteed to be homogeneous. Season the dough with a pinch of ground black pepper.
8. Pour a little potato broth into the mashed potatoes.
9. Dilute the dough to the consistency you want. Let me remind you that the thinner the dough, the thinner the pancakes.
10. Put the pan on the stove, add vegetable oil and heat well. When the butter starts to sizzle a little, spoon the dough onto the bottom with a tablespoon. Heat medium heat and fry pancakes for about 2 minutes until golden brown.
11. Then turn them over to the back side, where also bring them to a ruddy beautiful shade.
