Stew, like a hodgepodge, is loved by those housewives who understand that from any meat leftovers with the addition of vegetables and other products, you can easily and quickly prepare a delicious meal. In the summer season, all fresh young seasonal vegetables are used, and in the winter, those that are at hand. The main advantage of the dish is that it can be prepared quickly and from almost anything.
Here is a list of foods that can be used for stews. And I will immediately note that they can all be combined in any quantity. So, all types of meat, poultry, meat offal, sausages, mushrooms, fish fillets are suitable. They also use absolutely all vegetables that grow in our beds, incl. and exotic. Fruits like apples, pears, oranges, dried fruits go well in the dish. The range of spices is generally unlimited; it can only be limited by a meager imagination. Well, stews are stewed either in their own juice, or with the addition of all kinds of sauces, such as sour cream, tomato, combined, etc.
An important point in stews is to keep the food pieces intact. To do this, they are pre-fried, and then combined and stewed. But if you like a heterogeneous stew or want to cook a dietary dish, then put all the products in a saucepan and simmer immediately.

Ingredients:
- Pork (any part) - 600 g
- Champignons - 500 g
- Potatoes - 3 pcs.
- Onions - 1 pc.
- Apples - 2 pcs.
- Vegetable oil - for frying
- Salt - 1 tsp or to taste
- Ground black pepper - a pinch
Step by step cooking assorted stews:
1. Wash the meat under running water, clean it from film and excess fat. The last option is optional though. If you like fatty foods, then you need not cut off the fat. Dry the pork with a paper towel and cut into slices. In my case, pork ribs are used, so I cut them by the bones. Any other meat can be chopped at will. Peel the shells, rinse and chop into half rings.
2. Wash and dry the champignons. If the caps are already blackened, then peel them from the film. Leave the small mushrooms as they are, and cut the large ones in half. At the same time, keep in mind that when frying, mushrooms will decrease in size by half.
3. Peel the potatoes, wash and cut into large pieces. Rinse the apple as well, remove the seed box and cut into large pieces.
4. When all the products are prepared, start frying them. To do this, arm yourself with two or more pans to make the process go faster. So, pour vegetable oil into the pan and heat well. Send meat to fry over high heat. Fry it on both sides until golden brown. This process will take you no more than 5 minutes.
5. Choose a convenient stewing pot and lay out the fried ribs.
6. Also fry the mushrooms over high heat until they brown quickly.
7. Place them in a saucepan as well.
8. Next, put the fried potatoes until they are golden brown.
9. Saute the onion until transparent.
10. Slightly brown the apples too.
11. Place all food in one large stewing pot.
12. Season the ingredients with salt, ground pepper and your favorite spices. Mix well, pour literally 50 ml of water so that the food does not burn at the initial stage of stewing. Close the container with a lid and send the stew into a heated oven chamber up to 180 degrees for 1 hour.
13. Serve the finished stew after cooking. Sprinkle with fresh herbs if desired.
