Pork with oranges is a very beautiful and bright dish. In modern cooking, this dish is prepared in a variety of ways. For example, meat can be baked in the oven, stewed, or roasted. Any housewife has many options on how to make something tasty from meat. At the same time, no matter how the pork is cooked, it will still turn out delicious, soft, satisfying, beautiful and festive. For this dish, you can use any piece of meat, for example, a brisket or a neck is good. And if you don't like pork, then replace it with another type of meat, for example, veal. Ingredients:
- Pork - 1 kg
- Orange - 1 pc.
- Onions - 1 pc.
- Garlic - 3 cloves
- Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Honey - 1 tsp
- Salt - 1 tsp
- Ground black pepper - a pinch
- Vegetable oil - for frying
Cooking pork with oranges:
1. Clean the meat from excess fat and remove the film. Rinse it under running water, pat it dry with a paper towel and cut into medium sized pieces, about 3-4 cm each. Do not chop too finely, because there is a risk that the meat will become dry. Peel the peeled onions, rinse and chop in half rings. Wash the orange and cut into wedges. Do not peel the skin, it contains a lot of vitamins and gives the characteristic orange aroma and taste.
2. Prepare the sauce in which the dish will be stewed. In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce and honey. Add salt and ground pepper. Also add any spices and herbs. I preferred to add ground nutmeg.
3. Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan and heat well. Add the pork and fry over high heat until it becomes golden brown, which will retain all the juice. Turn the meat periodically so that it does not burn.
4. Heat medium and add onions.
5. Continue to fry food until the onions are golden brown.
6. Place the orange wedges in the pan.
7. Pour in the prepared sauce and boil, heat to minimum, cover the pan and simmer for 40 minutes. Serve it hot with your favorite side dish. By the way, instead of stewing, you can pour the sauce into the pan and send the dish to bake in the oven at 180 degrees for half an hour. It will also be very tasty.
