Step-by-step preparation of pollock in tomato juice, recipe with photo:
1. Since pollock is sold mainly frozen in our country, defrost it before cooking. Do it right: first on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator, then at room temperature. Do not use microwave oven or hot water. This will spoil the taste and quality of the fish.
Then wash the fish and dry well with a paper towel. Cut off the fins, tail and cut the carcass into pieces.
2. Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan and heat. Place the fish on hot oil so that it does not come into contact with each other.
3. Fry the fish on all sides until golden brown. Season it with salt and black pepper.
4. Place all the fried fish in the skillet. After frying, stack them tightly together to fit all the pieces. Pour the tomato juice over the fish. Add bay leaves and peppercorns.
5. Bring the fish to a boil, turn the temperature to the lowest setting, cover the pan and simmer the pollock in tomato juice for 40 minutes. Serve warm or chilled. This fish is equally tasty at any temperature.
