Cooking beetroot caviar with tomato juice in a slow cooker: a recipe with a photo
1. We will not boil the beets for caviar in water, as is usually done, but steam them. So the root vegetable will retain a maximum of useful vitamins. Put the washed beets on the insert for steaming, pour 2 glasses of water into the multicooker bowl and set the "Steamer" mode. Cooking time for vegetables is 30 minutes.
2. When the beets are cooked let them cool down, and at this time we will deal with the onions and garlic. We will clean them and chop them finely. Pour a small amount of refined vegetable oil into the bottom of the multicooker bowl. We will set the "Fry" mode, if your model of a multicooker requires it, select the type of product: "Vegetables", set the time - 5 minutes to lightly fry the garlic and bring the onion until golden brown.
3. Grind the beets on a coarse grater and add to the multicooker bowl. Fill with tomato juice, add salt and pepper to taste.
4. Add 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar and mix all the ingredients together. Let's set the “Extinguishing” mode and set the timer for 40 minutes.
5. Delicious and juicy beetroot caviar with tomato juice in a slow cooker is ready. Serve on slices of white bread or with rye croutons. Bon Appetit!
