Interested in Japanese room design? See how to quickly turn a home into something like this. Build a tabletop garden, a Japanese lantern, and an oriental dragon.
Japan is a distant and mysterious country for many. To get closer to her, some take note of the oriental style in the interior in order to decorate their home. And this is a great idea, because minimalism can be clearly seen in the interior decoration of such houses. Therefore, this style is perfect for those who do not like to clutter up the space.
The main thing for the Japanese is mental components, they value peace, tranquility, love to meditate. Even small rooms are suitable for this, which the inhabitants of the land of the rising sun skillfully divide into zones with the help of various screens, curtains, and a multi-level arrangement of elements.
Japanese style in the interior
Take note of some of the principles that will help you transform your apartment into a multifunctional home. The room can be turned into a bedroom and a study at the same time. With the help of a light overlap, the room is divided into two zones. The table can be made on the basis of the window sill or according to its principle, let it be located along the window, become narrow, so as not to take up much space.
If this is not a window sill, but a table, then equip the drawers below in order to put all the necessary stationery and documents in them. In another area, there is room for a spacious bed.
With the help of light floors, the living room can also be divided into two zones. Someone will watch TV and not interfere with the reader in a comfortable armchair.
Wooden doors that close like a "compartment" will allow you to get two or more from one room. A great solution for those who have bought an inexpensive studio apartment. By hanging a Japanese-style curtain, you can separate the kitchen and dining areas, or use a light overlap to separate the living room from the food preparation area.
Even if someone does not have a bed, you can play up this circumstance by telling those who are interested in this circumstance that in general there is Japanese design in the apartment. Place a low table next to which you can sit on small pillows.
For a Japanese interior to really become one, you need to take care of small details that will allow you to achieve this effect. Hang a hand-made fan over the bed. It can be large or small.
How to make a Japanese fan with your own hands?
Let's practice a little. Having understood the principle of creating such a thing, you will make a more global one. And for this you need:
- patterned or colored paper (it is better to take a special Japanese paper for origami);
- metallized paper;
- PVA glue;
- metal pin with a round head;
- small nippers;
- bead - 1 pc.;
- glue "Supermoment";
- fine sandpaper;
- breadboard knife;
- thick, durable ruler;
- the starting material of the fan or flat wooden planks.
The metal pin is a jewelry accessory. You can buy an inexpensive Chinese fan to remove the wooden base from and work with. You can use this initial fan.
Draw a sketch of the future accessory on a sheet of white paper. which will soon highlight the Japanese interior design. At this stage, you can make your own adjustments to the dimensions, making not a small, but a large fan.
Cut out a piece of paper, fold it like an accordion. If everything suits you, then attach this template to patterned paper, cut a fan out of it. Also fold it "accordion", do not straighten it, leave it in this position. Place the book on top. put a weight on it so that the fan's ribs remain so.
Take apart the original thing. If you do not have one, use suitable wooden planks. If you are making a small fan, then Japanese food sticks or ice cream sticks will do.
Paint these wood pieces with paint, varnish, or stain. Let dry thoroughly. If there are no holes in them, make those with a drill and its thin drill.
Match the planks so that all holes are flush. Put a little glue on the pin, thread this hardware through all the holes at once. Put a bead on it.
Make sure that there is very little glue - the wooden parts should not stick together. Use tweezers to help yourself at this stage.
When the solution is dry, place this piece of wood on top of the fabric accordion. attach it using PVA. We glue to the lying ribs. Cut off the excess.
From metallized paper, cut strips 0.5 cm wide, glue them on the top of the fan in order to simultaneously refine the inner and front sides of this rib.
Such a fan will perfectly fit into your Japanese interior. You can make a large one by following the diagram below.
How to make a paper flashlight with your own hands?
A similar lighting fixture will also emphasize the Japanese style of the room. Such flashlights are now very fashionable, and it is not difficult to make them.
To make such an accessory, take:
- lightweight transparent fabric;
- A4 paper - 5 sheets;
- paints;
- satin ribbons;
- Scotch;
- scissors;
- Light-emitting diode;
- glue;
- battery-button;
- pencil;
- brush.
You need to fold each sheet of paper in half and again in half lengthwise, then cut the resulting strips.
Put the pencil on the corner of the first such tape, wind it around it, glue the tip.
You will have 20 of these tubes. Here's how to make a paper flashlight next. Take scissors with your own hands, cut the sharp ends of the paper blanks so that the parts become even.
Let's start creating the wireframe. Lay the two straws parallel to each other, place the next 2 on them, perpendicular to these. In the center, you need to put a couple of such blanks.
On one and the second side, lay another tube along the tube, also attaching them with glue.
Place in a tube, placing them vertically.
The top tubular square will complete the wireframe.
Cover it with black paint, let it dry.
While this is happening, let's start preparing the lighting fixture. To prevent the LED from burning too brightly, wrap it in a piece of cloth. On the other hand, attach a battery to the LED so that there is a contact, wrap this place with tape.
We continue to create the Japanese lantern. Take a lightweight fabric or small item like a silk scarf. Attach the canvas to the backing using thread, stapler, or glue. Decorate the flashlight with satin ribbons and hang it on the laces. During the day it will decorate the room, and in the evening and at night it will flicker dimly.
You can make a Japanese or Chinese lantern using a slightly different technique. To implement such a project, take:
- high tin can;
- thick wire;
- nippers;
- corrugated paper;
- scissors.
Thread the wire around the can to create equal-sized turns for the wireframe.
Fix the extreme turns with the free ends of the wire on the upper and lower sides, cut off the excess. Prepare sheets of paper of the correct size. Take the first one, bend it over the lower tier of the frame, smear this edge with glue, lift the workpiece up, attach it here too.
You will need 3-4 pieces of such paper sheets, glue their seams together. Instead of crepe paper, you can use tissue or rice paper. Twist it around the handle of the flashlight, which must be made of wire. Use glue for better adhesion to the paper.
You can apply hieroglyphs to the product. When the paint is dry, place an equally safe and not very bright LED inside along with the power supply. If you create Japanese, Chinese lanterns in black and white, use them to decorate the room in the same range. As you can see, dark colored panels are fixed to the white ceiling, which well emphasize the style of the room. You can hang a picture with hieroglyphs on the wall. To do this, you need to apply Japanese symbols in black paint on a sheet of Whatman paper, then place your work in a dark brown frame.
If you are anxious to find out what other attributes will help you make an Asian-style room, then do not forget about the next mystical animal.
Oriental dragon in apartment design
You will be surprised when you find out what it is made of. If you are intrigued, then quickly reveal this riddle for yourself. For this craft were used:
- disposable plastic cups;
- old unnecessary magazine;
- threads of yarn;
- adhesive plaster;
- corrugated paper;
- Scotch;
- glue.
To make stoppers, cut a strip from the magazine, roll it up with a tube, fix this figure with tape. With the help of adhesive tape, you need to secure this blank in the center of the cup.
Make a puncture in the bottom of the glass with an awl or scissors, put a cardboard stopper here, insert it into a workpiece decorated in the same way, pass a thread through them. Collect the rest of the cups using the same principle. This Japanese dragon consists of 13 pieces.
Place them all on a flat surface, glue strips of corrugated paper on top.
Use a stapler to secure the paper and cups together. Instead of magazine stoppers, you can use toilet paper rolls by cutting them in half across. Draw a dragon's head on a piece of paper, paint it. You will need to make two such parts, after that, using a stapler and glue, fix the figures from the cups on one side.
When the glue is completely dry, tie several threads to the dragon's body to hang it not straight, but in a wave.
Plastic bottles also make a beautiful Japanese dragon.
To do this, take:
- two two-liter plastic bottles;
- wire;
- two plastic spoons;
- toilet paper;
- Scotch;
- tights;
- synthetic winterizer;
- foam rubber;
- PVA glue;
- a needle;
- threads;
- scissors.
Take the first bottle, cut the neck off it. Starting from the bottom towards the shoulders, make a long slit, but one half should be slightly smaller than the other. On a small one, closer to the shoulders, you need to cut a little more in both directions so that the mouth of the dragon that you are creating at this stage is well ajar. Use scotch tape to fix this position.
Do not cut the tape, make a kind of pigtail out of it, twisting it. Attach turns of wire on top of it, and from it make a blank for the eyes on the crown of the head.
The photos eloquently show how such a Japanese dragon is made. The next one shows how the blank is made out with filler.
Now on the upper jaw, eyes, neck, pull one leg of the tights, the second on the lower jaw, sew the tights at the intersection.
So that our Japanese or Chinese dragon is, as it should be, with wings, we make a frame for them from wire.
The roll of paper that you see in the photo was not here by accident. Wrap it around the wire frame.
Then, using the same paper, create the wings completely.
Now you need to give them strength. Pour water into a bottle, moisten the workpiece from a spray bottle. Where the paper adheres to the fencing wire of the wings, it should be coated with PVA. Place the wings in a warm place to dry.
When the blanks are completely dry and stronger, apply silver paint on them and just a little gold to achieve this shade.
Attach the wings to the body of the Japanese dragon using adhesive plaster.
Attach another two-liter bottle to the structure, decorate it with coils of wire to get a frame for the legs and tail. Using a thread, a needle, make tightening on the face to create lips, dragon eyes, make more regular ears, triangular thickenings on the spine.
First wrap the last blank with foam rubber, and attach a synthetic winterizer on top of it.
Using acrylic paints on the convex parts of two plastic spoons, draw the eyes of the dragon, and create the eyelids from the elastic from the pantyhose.
On the body and paws of the animal, also put on this piece of women's knitwear, use a thread and a needle to make tightening.
Make your teeth from foam rubber, sew them into place. For the breast, use a fabric of a suitable texture.
To make it easier for you to shape the face and figure of the dragon, look at the diagram, which shows how and how to make the tightening.
Such a mystical animal will be an interesting accessory that will allow you to make a Japanese room design.
Japanese garden in the apartment
If you do not have a summer cottage, then you can make a corner of this eastern country in your home. A miniature Japanese garden will decorate it, become a place where you can sit, relax, think about the sublime. To create it, you will need very affordable items, these are:
- a large glass dish;
- small bonsai tree;
- red and white river sand;
- pebbles of different sizes;
- candles;
- candlestick lantern;
- artificial or natural moss.
Wash the pebbles, dry. Place them around the edge of the dish, filling about half of the circular arc.
On the other side, place a small bonsai tree. If you don't have one, you can put another green plant. Pour white river sand around it in the center of the composition, place a little red on the other side of the plant, at the edge of the dish.
Rake some sand from the pot with a tree, put a flashlight here, which will symbolize a Japanese gazebo.
On the other hand, on the contrary, put a little larger stones, next to them, place pieces of moss. From here to the gazebo, lay out the path with dark pebbles. Place three larger pebbles near the flashlight, cover the junction with moss. Place a candle inside the gazebo, place 3 more along the edge of the dish.
As you can see, the sand is decorated with ridges, in this case it symbolizes the sea. In Japan, water is believed to attract money. Therefore, shape the sand with such waves. That's how easy it is to create a Japanese desktop kindergarten. It can be carried to any room in the house and admire the wonderful creation.
If you don't have such a glass dish, but have a tray, then you can make a corner of Japan at home using it.
You can replace the tray with an unnecessary drawer by painting the edges first. You will make the base from planks and the bottom from a sheet of plywood. To make a tabletop garden of this type, you will need:
- tray or drawer;
- small rake;
- small stones of different sizes;
- sand;
- gravel;
- babies of small plants.
Pour sand into the container, level it with a rake, use them to make waves. If you have a small Buddha figurine, place it in the highlighted area. If you want, you can lay small stones in the form of a river, put a rounded bridge made of wooden sticks, which you can make with your own hands.
Using branches, you will also make a fence, separate the area where the pagoda will be located from other territory. Lay out a path from dark stones, place small children of miniature plants in wooden or other containers with soil.
You already know that sand in Japanese design symbolizes water that attracts money. But the stones represent constancy and serenity. The stones are laid out in groups asymmetrically. Place a small candle in the center or on the edge of the composition, looking at the flame of which, you can relax, think about the beautiful.
If you like to craft from wood, then make a small house, a gazebo, a bridge from this material. This home garden also looks calm and peaceful.
These simple products will help you decorate your room in Japanese style.
