Step-by-step preparation of lingonberry sauce for meat for the winter with a photo
Lingonberry is a wild berry and should be carefully sorted out and washed before being processed. Let the berries drain well and place them on paper towels to dry. In a saucepan, combine lingonberries, cinnamon, lemon juice, star anise and aromatic herbs (I have oregano, mint and rosemary).
Put the saucepan with berries and spices over medium heat and, stirring constantly, boil the berry for 10-15 minutes, which will let in a sufficient amount of juice. During this time, the spices will have time to give the sauce their flavor.
Now you need to make the sauce smooth. We filter and grind the lingonberries through a sieve: we need a sauce without particles of berry peel or large parts of spices.
Add granulated sugar to the grated sauce and return the pan to the fire again. Boil the sauce for another 20 minutes. It should become thicker and more viscous.
We pour the finished sauce into clean jars, close it tightly and send it to the refrigerator for storage, so that, when necessary, serve it to the table.
Lingonberry sauce for meat is ready. A hint of sourness of this sauce and a bouquet of aromas will win your hearts, and a simple meat dish will bring you closer to the masterpieces of haute cuisine.
