Christmas is approaching, so I propose to prepare an uzvar. This drink is mainly prepared on Christmas Eve and other church holidays. It is easy to prepare and does not require exotic products, only native dried fruits that grow in our latitudes. A distinctive feature of the uzvar from the usual compote is that before cooking, dried fruits are soaked for a while in water, and after boiling it is not boiled, but insisted. Thanks to this method of preparation, the drink retains all its useful properties.
This drink can be prepared with any type of dry fruit. It can be apples, pears, plums, peaches, plums, cherries, etc. Additionally, you can take raisins, prunes, dried apricots, hawthorn fruits. Uzvar is also cooked with the addition of sugar, honey, or no sweetener at all. The benefits of the uzvar are due to the beneficial properties of the fruits and berries used. It is known that dried fruits contain more trace elements than fresh fruits.

Step-by-step preparation of dried fruit uzvar, recipe with photo:
1. Place all dryings in a sieve and rinse under running water.
2. Transfer them to a cooking pot.
3. Fill the dried fruit with drinking water.
4. Put the saucepan on fire and bring to a boil.
5. Once the water boils, remove the pan from the heat. Cover it with a lid and leave the dried fruit uzvar to infuse for 1-2 hours.
Note: if you want to sweeten the uzvar, the cooking technology will be different, depending on what you are going to use. If cooking with sugar, add sugar after boiling water and stir well until it dissolves. If you are preparing an uzvar with honey, then add it to the drink only after insisting and cooling to a warm state. Since at temperatures above 60 ° C, honey loses some of its useful properties and, in order to preserve all its qualities, is added to a warm uzvar.
