Today we propose to get acquainted with the recipe for stuffed crab sticks with cheese and tomato.
How to gently unwrap crab sticks?
The recipe for stuffed crab sticks itself is quite simple. One of the biggest challenges is deploying them neatly. Our following tips will help you with this.
- Crab sticks should be well thawed to room temperature. Then squeeze them a little on all sides to see their layered solid structure. Start unrolling the crab stick from the last fold, which is on the outside.
- Fill the sticks with hot water for 30 seconds, they will become more elastic, which will make them easy to unfold.
- Hold the crab sticks over the steaming steam. The last outer layer will scald a little and you can see where it goes to start unrolling it.
How to choose crab sticks?
When choosing crab sticks, pay attention to the composition indicated on the package. In sticks of good quality, surimi should be the first on the list of products. If it is listed in 2nd place, then the amount of fish in the sticks is at least. Moreover, if the composition of the product "surimi" is absent at all, then there is no fish in the sticks either, and they are made of starch and soy protein, which means that you should not spend money on them.
Also, you should pay attention to the appearance of the product. Crab sticks are colored from light pink to bright red on one side. They should not have gray or yellow shades. Their shape is neat, even, smooth, elastic and not wrinkled. Crumbling and brittleness speaks of their repeated defrosting and freezing. Surimi itself is elastic and when bent, high-quality sticks can only crack a little at the bend.

Cooking stuffed crab sticks with cheese and tomato
1. Prepare the filling. To do this, grate the cheese on a fine or medium grater. Do not use a coarse grater, otherwise the stuffed stick will look rough. Wash the tomato, dry well with a paper towel and cut into small cubes.
2. Peel the garlic and squeeze through a press. Pour in mayonnaise as well. Do not overdo it with mayonnaise, otherwise the filling will turn out to be liquid and will fall out of the sticks.
3. Stir the filling well.
4. Carefully unfold the crab sticks so as not to break them. How to do it correctly is described above. Let me just remind you that you should defrost them well. Apply the filling on a stick with a thin layer.
5. Wrap the stick in the opposite direction. Do not squeeze it too much, otherwise the filling may fall out a little. Cut the finished sticks into portions and serve the table with them.
