Cooking Christmas cookies with spices and honey
1. First, grind the spices: clove buds, allspice peas, cardamom seeds. This can be done with a coffee grinder, mortar, grinder or hammer.
2. Place flour, baking soda, ginger powder, ground cinnamon and ground spices into a bowl.
3. Stir in the flour and spices.
4. Beat an egg into a small container, add honey and butter at room temperature. Mix the food with a mixer. You don't need to beat them, just stir them to make it more convenient to work with the dough.
5. Pour the liquid mass into a bowl with flour.
6. Knead the dough until smooth. It may seem too liquid to you, that's okay, then it will become denser and it will be convenient to work with it. Wrap it in cling film and refrigerate for 1 hour. During this time, the butter will harden and the dough will become stronger.
7. After this time, roll out the dough into a thin layer. Here you can choose the height yourself. If you want soft cookies, roll out the dough 5-7 mm, crunchy - 3-4 mm. Cut out the cookies with special themed cutters.
8. If you want to hang cookies on a Christmas tree, make holes in it with a drinking straw. Then put it on a baking sheet and send it to bake in a heated oven up to 180 ° C for 15-30 minutes. The baking time depends on the thickness of the cookie. Therefore, control the process yourself. When it turns rosy, remove from the oven.
9. Chill the finished biscuits, cover with icing if desired and serve.
