"Mandarin" time is, of course, winter. This recipe was lying around in my bins, and there was no time to share it with you. But as they say, better late than never. Since, according to this principle, you can make candied fruits from lemons, oranges, minions, limes and other citrus fruits that you find in the refrigerator or supermarket. Why are there citrus fruits, absolutely any fruits and even vegetables are suitable. I also note that it is absolutely not necessary to cook candied fruits from the tangerines themselves. You can eat them, and use only tangerine peels for the recipe.
Candied fruits are prepared in a variety of options. There are recipes that involve making a dessert for 4 days. But there is a simpler one, a day or even a time of hours. This recipe is an express method, so after 6-7 hours you can already eat this wonderful delicacy. The most important thing in this recipe is to eliminate the specific bitterness contained in the tangerine peel. To do this, chopped fruits are soaked in cold water or boiled for 15 minutes. Of course, the bitterness will not disappear completely, but this is what makes the dessert interesting. In combination with sweet syrup, a peculiar bitter aftertaste is felt very harmoniously.

Ingredients:
- Mandarins - 5-6 pcs.
- Allspice - 4 peas
- Sugar - 200 g
- Cinnamon stick - 1 pc.
- Anise - 3-4 stars
- Carnations - 4-5 buds
- Cardamom - 3 grains
- Nutmeg - 1 pc.
How to make candied tangerines:
1. Wash and dry the tangerines. Wash the skin very well, because during the growth of berries, they are treated with various harmful chemicals. After the fruit, cut into rings about 5 mm wide.
2. Place citrus fruits in a cooking pot and cover with drinking water. Boil them over low heat after boiling for 15 minutes.
3. After drain the water, cool the tangerines and fill with water again. Boil again for 10 minutes.
4. Now do not drain the water, remove the tangerines from the pan in a slotted spoon and put them in a sieve or on a plate.
5. Put all the spices and sugar in the orange liquid that remained in the pan. Boil to completely dissolve the sugar. The amount of granulated sugar can be changed to taste by adding or subtracting it.
6. Then transfer the tangerine slices to this syrup.
7. Place the saucepan on the stove and simmer the syrup over low heat with the lid closed for about 1-2 hours. It is necessary that the citrus fruits are well caramelized.
8. Next, take a wire rack and place the cooked fruit on it. Place them so that the berries do not come into contact with each other, otherwise they will stick together during drying. Heat the oven to 100 degrees and send the candied fruit to dry for about 2 hours. You can also dry the dessert at room temperature or even on heating radiators if you create sweetness in the winter.
You can serve such candied fruits with a cup of brewed coffee or tea. They are used in baked goods and desserts, and for the New Year they decorate a Christmas tree hanging on an openwork string.
