Muesli has been replaced by a new favorite: granola. It is a traditional breakfast food in the United States, containing rolled oats, whole nuts, dried fruit, and honey that are baked until crisp. It is very similar to muesli, however, granola tastes much better due to the way it is prepared. When baked, the honey caramelizes, adds a crust and gives a crispy state. These are distinctive features and big pluses. At the same time, the low temperature during baking preserves all the beneficial properties in cereals. Vitamins, minerals and fiber contained in granola give strength, satisfy hunger, preserve beauty and health, reduce blood cholesterol, and improve metabolism. In addition, the body spends more calories on the processing of the product than it receives, which means that the benefits for the figure are also undoubted.
Dry and crumbly granola is perfect for making breakfast. It is combined with yoghurt, kefir, milk, juices … And it is simply delicious to chew and “crunch” it in an independent dry form with tea without added sugar. As you can see, healthy eating can be not only useful, but also a real pleasure! Due to the fact that granola is lightweight, it can be taken with you on the road and travel as a quick and satisfying snack.

Ingredients:
- Oat flakes - 200 g
- Peeled sunflower seeds - 50 g
- Refined vegetable oil - 1 tbsp. L
- Milk - 600 ml for 3 servings
- Raisins - 50 g
- Walnuts - 50 g
- Honey - 1 tablespoon
Step by step preparation of granola with milk, recipe with photo:
1. Pour oatmeal into a bowl.
2. Add peeled seeds and walnut kernels to them. You do not need to fry food beforehand.
3. Add honey. It must be liquid. If it is thick, then first melt it a little in a water bath. If you are allergic to honey, use fruit juice as a dressing.
4. Pour vegetable oil over the food.
5. Stir the ingredients to distribute them evenly.
6. Put the mixture in a clean, dry cast iron or heavy-bottomed skillet and place on the stove over low heat.
7. Dry the mixture without the lid, stirring occasionally to achieve a crumbly consistency. When the mass acquires a golden hue and is almost dry, add the washed and dried raisins. Stir and dry the ingredients on the stove for another 5-7 minutes.
8. Breakfast cereal is ready, place the mixture on deep plates.
9. Pour cool or warm milk over the granola and start tasting. Store the dry mixture in a glass container with a lid and in a dry, well-ventilated place.
