Step by step preparation of pear jam:
1. Select the pears for the jam. Wash them and pat dry with a cotton towel.
2. Remove the seed box from the pears and cut them into wedges or cubes; further they will be mashed. Divide them in half and place one portion in a heavy-bottomed cooking pot. Note: If pears are spoiled or broken, then cut out the flaws from them. The main thing is that the total weight of the fruit that you will cook is 1 kg.
3. Pour half of the sugar into the pears.
4. Add the remaining pears and sugar to the saucepan. Shake with a saucepan so that the refined sugar is evenly distributed over all the fruits.
5. Place the pot on the stove, add water and boil. Reduce the temperature to low, cover and cook for 15 minutes until the fruit is soft. Water is necessary so that the pears do not burn in the first minutes, because then they will start up their own juice, in which they will cook.
6. Next, remove the pan from the heat and take a blender.
7. Grind the pears until smooth. If there is no blender, then grind them through a sieve or twist them several times through a meat grinder. Return the pot to the stove and boil the jam for 1-2 hours until thick. Taste it periodically. Drop on a flat surface, if the drop does not spread, then the jam is ready. Remember! After cooling, it will become even thicker. By this time, prepare sterilized jars in which you put the jam. Seal it with sterile caps. Cover the jam with a warm blanket and leave to cool completely. Then keep the workpiece at room temperature.
