Lard is a product of wide culinary use. It is prepared in a variety of ways: smoked, salted, baked, boiled with spices. Today we'll talk about one of them: baked bacon in the oven. We will bake lard in spicy spices that will turn it into a truly unusual delicacy. Lard is pre-marinated and then baked. The amount and composition of spices can be adjusted independently.
Baked bacon is a special dish that is served hot with a side dish, or as an appetizer on bread. It will complement the borscht, making the meal a gastronomic pleasure, and will look beautiful as slices on the festive table. If you love lard and have previously tasted it baked, then you will surely want to repeat the pleasure. In order for the appetizer to delight you with its taste, I recommend taking lard from the back. Cut from a boch is not bad, but in the last place I can take fat from the peritoneum. It depends on your taste, though. But in any case, whichever piece you choose, try to have a thin skin on it, it will be easier to chew.

- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Mustard - 1 tsp
- Salt - 1 tsp
- Ground black pepper - 1/3 tsp
- Any spices and spices to taste (Turkish spices are used in this recipe)
Step-by-step cooking of baked bacon in the oven with spices:
1. Peel the garlic, wash and pass through a press. Add mustard, salt, ground pepper and any spices. Wash the fat and pat dry with a paper towel. I draw your attention to the fact that we are preparing salted lard. If you bought slightly salted, then adjust the amount of salt in the recipe so as not to oversalt the dish.
2. Stir the marinade foods.
3. Pierce each piece of bacon in several places with a knife and brush with mustard-garlic marinade on all sides. Through these places it will soak inside. Optionally, you can put a clove of garlic and a piece of bay leaf into these cuts.
4. Place the bacon in a roasting sleeve, fix it on both sides and leave to marinate for an hour. By this time, heat the oven to 180 degrees and send it to bake for 30-40 minutes, depending on the size of the piece. Do not overdo it for a very long time, otherwise it will melt a lot. Serve the snack right after cooking with mashed potatoes or borscht. If you prepared it for future use, then place it in a bag and store it in the refrigerator.
