We get used to combining certain foods, and some new dishes sometimes seem "weird" to us. Prunes are commonly used for making sweet dishes where they fit well and come as no surprise. But the second courses with prunes are not perceived by many at all. But, once you try to cook something like this, prunes will appear in the first and second courses over and over again.
This dish is prepared very easily, in principle, in the same way as you used to do it. Only add dried fruits to meat and vegetables. Thanks to prunes, the taste of the food is festive. On the table, the food looks elegant and solemn. I only recommend buying fragrant prunes with a slight sourness. Of course, you can use sweet prunes, but in combination with meat, this is not for everybody. So experiment with caution here. And if you get prunes with seeds, then you should first remove them all.

Cooking braised pork with prunes
1. Wash the pork, strip off the film and veins. Pat dry with a paper towel and cut into medium sized pieces. Do not chop very finely, otherwise the meat may burn and become dry, and large pieces will be fried on the outside and remain moist on the inside.
2. Peel and rinse onions with carrots. Wipe off with a napkin and chop: carrots - in small cubes, onions - in quarter rings. Wash the prunes, blot with a towel and cut into strips. Although you can leave it intact if you wish, it is pitted.
3. In a skillet, heat the oil and add the meat. Fry it over high heat until golden brown. It will seal the edges of the pieces and retain all the juice. When the meat is browned, add carrots with onions and prunes to it.
4. Heat medium heat and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
5. Then pour sour cream into the pan, season with salt, pepper and all kinds of spices. I added ground nutmeg, dried basil and cilantro.
6. Stir the ingredients and, after boiling, simmer over low heat under a closed lid for another 10 minutes. Serve the finished meal freshly prepared with any side dish. It goes very well with boiled potatoes or spaghetti.
