Ingredients:
- White cabbage - 0.5 heads of cabbage
- Bay leaf - 2-3 pcs.
- Carrots - 1 pc. big size
- Allspice peas - 4 pcs.
- Tomato paste - 2-3 tablespoons
- Sausages - 5 pcs.
- Ground black pepper - a pinch
- Salt - 1 tsp or to taste
- Vegetable oil - for frying
- Sugar - 0.5 tsp
Step by step cooking stewed cabbage with sausages in tomato sauce, recipe with photo:
1. Wash the cabbage and pat dry with a paper towel. Remove the top leaves as they are usually dirty and tainted. Then chop the head of cabbage into thin strips.
2. Peel the carrots, wash and grate on a coarse grater.
3. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet and add cabbage.
4. Next, add the carrots to the pan.
5. Stir the cabbage and carrots.
6. Add tomato paste, sugar and salt to vegetables.
7. Pepper, add bay leaf and allspice.
8. Stir the vegetables and add the sausages to them, peel them of the packaging film and cut into 5 mm rings.
9. Close the pan with a lid and simmer cabbage with sausages in tomato sauce over low heat for about 1 hour. Stir food occasionally. Simmer it until it changes color to a light brown hue. Condensation will collect under the lid, thanks to which the cabbage will be stewed and will not stick to the bottom of the pan. Although you can change the thickness and dryness of the dish by adding or evaporating liquid.
