Potatoes are one of the most versatile vegetables from which a wide variety of dishes are made. It is difficult to find products with which it would not be combined. This and any vegetables, fish and meat, spices and herbs. Without any doubt, in the company with this root crop, everything "sounds" harmoniously. It is an invariable part of our diet. Therefore, experimenting with potato dishes is sheer pleasure and entertainment. If you are fed up with too simple dishes, then I suggest preparing a simple recipe for an appetizer - baked potatoes with bacon and cheese.
For the preparation of this dish, it is better to use young potatoes, because it does not need to be cleaned, it is enough just to wash it. In winter, you can use old tubers, but not very large ones, with a thin skin, or cut off too thick skin. This dish, despite the use of the simplest ingredients, is very simple to prepare. It is enough to scrape the bottom of the barrel, collect an affordable set of products, combining which you will get a delicious and satisfying dinner. By the way, such a dish can be put on a festive table with no less success. I propose to repeat, without undue modesty, an unrealistically tasty dish and to please family and guests with a rich and nutritious dinner.

Step by step cooking of baked potatoes with lard and cheese:
1. Wash the potatoes under running water. If the roots are old, scrub the skin with an iron sponge to remove excess dirt. If you wish, you can peel the fruits, but in the skin, especially young root crops, there are many useful substances. Then cut the vegetable into 4-6 pieces, depending on their size, and place them compactly in a conveniently selected form.
2. Season potatoes with salt and ground pepper on top. To taste, you can flavor them with your favorite spices and herbs.
3. Cut the bacon into thin slices and spread it on top of the tubers. If it's not too salty, you can season it with a little salt. If desired, squeeze a few cloves of garlic on top or add chopped onions.
4. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater and sprinkle the potatoes with lard. Cover the form with food foil or a lid and send the dish to bake in a preheated oven to 180 degrees for 40 minutes. If you want a golden brown crust to appear on top, then remove the lid 10 minutes before cooking. Serve the dish with a fresh vegetable salad.
