Potatoes baked in foil with bacon - a recipe for an everyday simple and budget quick dinner, which resembles a summer picnic. At first glance, it seems that this is an elementary and banal dish, but the result will exceed all expectations! The tubers are languishing in foil, steamed, saturated with garlic aroma and melted bacon fat. Delicious and aromatic, soft and crumbly, incredibly tasty potatoes with bacon will not leave anyone indifferent. I note that in warm weather, the dish according to this recipe can be cooked outdoors on coals, but then the tubers need to be wrapped in thicker foil.
You can stuff the root crop in any way. For example, with an accordion, a boat, cut into two or three halves, make vertical slots, which are filled with bacon. There are many options and every chef can find a suitable one for himself. You can simply wrap the tubers with a slice of ham and string them on a wooden stick. In any case, the result of the dish will be amazing …
Both young potatoes and old tubers are suitable for the recipe. A young vegetable can be cooked in a peel, and an old one can be cooked without it or with a peel. This is the chef's choice. You can safely replace bacon with pure lard or with meat layers, and spices - a huge scope for creativity.

Step by step cooking baked potatoes in foil with bacon, recipe with photo:
1. Wash the potatoes, dry with a paper half and cut into two halves. Peel off the rind if desired, or leave it on. Cut the bacon into medium slices. Their size can be different: cubes, straws, slices … depending on how you decide to stuff the potatoes. Peel and cut the garlic into thin slices.
2. Prepare a piece of foil the size of the tubers and place half a potato on each piece. Season them with salt, ground pepper and any spices and spices to taste.
3. Place the garlic cloves and bacon slices on half of the potatoes.
4. Cover the bacon with the free half of the potato and wrap the tubers tightly in foil. Heat the oven to 180 degrees and send the potatoes to bake for 40-45 minutes, depending on their size. Check the readiness by piercing a wooden toothpick, it should easily enter the tuber. Serve the potatoes to the table immediately after cooking. If you do not use it immediately, then do not unfold it from the foil, it retains heat well for a long time.
