If you want to create a rug from pompons, scraps of fabric, stones or garbage bags, then you have come to the right place. A developing mat for a child, looking at the photos and description, is also easy to make.
Start weaving the stripes from the corner of the carpet, horizontally. So do all the work. From the inside out, the rug should turn out to be so even, without knots.
And on the front side - fluffy and voluminous.
How to weave a rope rug
Such an openwork product can be created even without a hook. This carpet is knitted by hands from a clothesline.
You can simply knit it in a circle, as described in the second example, or create a pattern. In the latter case, you will need a napkin knitting pattern. Here's how to crochet a rug.
But such a rug can be made from a cord. For this, several blanks of different sizes are made. The cord is twisted in a spiral, and its fragments are glued. Then the workpieces are fastened together with glue.
If you want to learn more about this process, read How to make a cord rug. For such a product you will need:
- felt for the base;
- glue;
- construction knife or scissors;
- rope or thick twine.
Cut a circle out of felt, overcast it. If you have a thinner fabric, such as flannel, then fold it in half and zigzag it.
We begin to twist the rope to make a rug from a cord. First, we twist so as to create the central part of the product. We coat the coils with glue and apply them close to each other. Use a piece of fabric on the cord from time to time to know when to finish the job.
Then cut off the excess rope and glue the tip so that the turns do not unwind. After that, apply glue in the form of "rays" to the inside of the rope circle, attach a fabric blank here and press with your palms.
After the glue is dry, the rope mat can be used as directed.
But what kind of product can be made from an ordinary clothesline, forming round fragments from it, and others in the form of trefoils.
Knitting from threads with patterns
If you have never done this kind of work, patterns will help to crochet a beginner rug. If you want to create a round product, then pay attention to this hint.
Start knitting from the center. Crochet a chain of three loops, then connect them in a ring and knit the next (first) row, which will consist of 5 loops. Pay attention, in each subsequent row - more loops (+1). Due to this, the rug increases towards the edges. The diagram shows that the addition is in each of the five sectors on the right. This is how a round rug crochets.
If you want it to be pentagonal, take a look at the following finished product and its diagram.
First, 5 loops are created, they are closed in a ring. Then it runs:
- First row: 3 air loops (vp) lifting, 2 columns with a crochet over the first air loop of the previous row, 2 vp, * 3 columns with a crochet, 2 ch. Next, knit from * to * 5 times to form a pentagon.
- Second row: 3 air lifting loops, 2 s / n columns. over the first vp previous row, 2 vp, 3 columns s / n., 1 vp Then continue knitting according to the pattern shown in the photo above.
Then a 5-gon is knitted in circular rows, after which each "ray" is tied separately.
Patterns for rugs can be different. If you want to create an oval product, then use the following.
Step-by-step photographs of the work will help you to knit such a necessary thing with your own hands.
Rug from packages
And here's another way to create original things.
A large number of plastic bags often accumulate at home. Beautiful products are also made from this waste material. For this we only need:
- packages;
- hook;
- scissors.
Take the packages. Straighten the first one and fold it several times as shown in the photo. Cut off the handles from it and cut into strips.
Then expand them. You will end up with cellophane rings that need to be tied together. To do this, we put the loop of one on the edge of the other, push in and tighten.
Now you need to wind the resulting threads into a ball, and you can start knitting the rug from the bags.
We put the hook into the ring-shaped end of the thread and make the first loop.
Next, we knit a column of 5 loops, bend it in the form of a ring. We put the hook through the wall of the nearest loop, put the thread on it, pull it first through the first loop, then put the thread on the hook again and pull it through the second loop. Thus, we knit further in a circle.
Now we gradually add loops, if this is not done, you will get a knitted hat. Although it can also be made from plastic bags, but another time.
The additions must be uniform. To do this, visually divide the knitting into 5 parts and at the end of each 5th part from the last loop, knit two, not one new loop.
If you do not want the rug to become wavy, then you can add a little less often.
When it comes time to weave a new color of thread, simply slip the end of the thread into the loop of the previous thread from the plastic bag and tighten both lengths.
Then continue to knit the rug from the bags in the same way.
If you have several bags of different colors, then you can get such a colorful product.
DIY do-it-yourself rug
If you want your child to know the names of vegetables and fruits from infancy, then do this useful thing for him. Use a soft, dense cloth. Then the baby will be comfortable on such a rug not only to play, but also to crawl.
In order to sew a do-it-yourself development rug, you need:
- a large piece of felt and several small pieces of other colors;
- scissors;
- fringe;
- threads;
- Velcro.
Cut out the base from the dark fabric, in this example it is made of black felt. To prevent the fabric from frizzing, overcast its edges on a typewriter or on your hands with a needle and thread. Sew on the fringe if desired.
Cut out pieces of different colors corresponding to a particular fruit or vegetable. Sew on the back of the Velcro and place the appliqué on the rug. Then the baby will be able to tear off the fabric fruits and vegetables and attach them to another place on the rug.
You can sew any other developmental rug for children with your own hands. Below are some examples.
It is very important to remember that small objects are sewn tightly and securely so that the baby cannot tear them off, and the craving for knowing the child does not turn into a tragedy.
This applies, for example, to attaching buttons to the fly agaric. They are needed so that the child develops fine motor skills by touching and twisting these objects.
Such a product can accommodate a whole city or part of a village. Then the child will get acquainted with many objects surrounding him, he will learn how trees look, what a rainbow is, how it rains. It can be imitated using ropes sewn to a fabric cloud.
Today you learned how to sew, knit, weave a rug from various materials. But this topic is very multifaceted, even stones, centimeter tapes, corks are used to create such things. So choose which product you like best, get down to exciting creativity, and photo and video materials will help you. Good luck in your pleasant and interesting work!
