Mini-sandwiches canapes were invented in Italy at the end of the 19th century especially for official receptions. These small snack sandwiches are most often strung on colorful, beautiful skewers, for which it is convenient to take and eat them whole at a time. Such a snack can often be found today at various holidays, incl. and at home celebrations.

Small canapes usually make no more than 50-80 g in weight, they are made up of fresh or fried pieces of bread or all kinds of thinly sliced foods. 1. Wash the potatoes, put them in a pot of water, add salt and boil until tender. The cooking time for potatoes may vary depending on the variety. The main thing in this process is not to boil the potatoes, otherwise it will fall apart and the canapes will not work. Therefore, keep an eye on the cooking process. I also advise you to choose medium-sized tubers for the canapes so that the canapes are not too large.

6. Now collect the canapes. Put potato slices on a dish, on which put cucumber slices on top. Place herring slices on top of the cucumbers. Secure the canapes with skewers and serve. If you will not be serving the appetizer right away, I advise you to wrap it in a plastic bag (T-shirt) to preserve the freshness and appearance of the dish.
