Making zucchini jam
1. Wash the squash and pat dry with a paper towel. Peel and remove seeds. Cut the pulp into 1-1.5 cm cubes. If the fruits are young, it is also recommended to remove the peel with seeds from them. Although this is a matter of taste. For some, crispy zucchini seeds in jam are a special piquancy.
Wash the orange well and scrape off the peel. gardeners treat it with harmful chemicals. Then dry the fruit and cut into half rings. Lemon can be used instead of orange. Also, some housewives use grapefruit or lime.
2. Place the sliced courgettes in a cooking pot. If the jam is cooked in large quantities, then instead of a saucepan, take a wide basin so that the products undergo the same heat treatment.
3. Place the sliced orange slices on top. Also, if orange peel remains, cut it into strips and add to the pan. The orange can be twisted to make gruel. Then its pieces will not be felt in the jam. Although this is a matter of taste.
4. Fill the food with sugar.
5. Stir the food well and place the pot on the stove. Boil, simmer for 10 minutes and remove from heat.
6. Leave the jam to infuse until completely cooled. Then repeat the same procedure two more times. That is, heat, boil for 10 minutes and refrigerate. When cooling the jam, cover it with gauze to keep out midges.
7. When the jam is boiled for the third time, place it in sterilized jars and seal with lids. Store the jam at room temperature.
