Preparing Turkish coffee
1. Combine coffee with sugar in any glass.
2. Pour boiling water over the coffee, close the lid and leave to infuse for 5 minutes to brew well. If you have a coffee machine, then you can brew coffee in it; a Turk is also suitable for this purpose. However, coffee can be brewed in any convenient way. In addition, if you prefer to use instant granular coffee, you can use it for the recipe.
3. When coffee is brewed, through filtration (sieve, gauze) pour it into a serving glass, add cognac and stir. Cognac can be replaced with rum, whiskey or brandy, or completely removed from the recipe if you do not drink alcoholic beverages.
4. Break the egg, carefully separate the white from the yolk. Dip the yolk into one clean, dry container, and the white into another. You won't need protein for this recipe, so you can use it for another dish.
5. Beat the yolk with a mixer at high speed until a homogeneous thick lemon-colored foam is formed.
6. Gently pour the whipped yolk into a glass of coffee so that it remains on the surface of the drink, sprinkle it with a little powdered sugar and start tasting.
Tip: this drink can be varied and slightly modified. For example, beat the white and put it on top of the yolk, or replace the yolk completely with it. Another good option is to beat the yolk with cream or milk.
