Ingredients:
- Rice - 100 g
- Cabbage - 400 g
- Carrots - 1 pc.
- Bulb onions - 1 pc.
- Tomatoes - 3-4 pcs.
- Water - 1 tbsp.
- Vegetable oil - 30 ml
- Salt, pepper spices - to taste
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Bay leaf - 1 pc.

Step by step cooking greek cabbage with rice
Peel and wash the onions and carrots. Grind, cut into small cubes. Remove and discard the top leaves from the cabbage head, and cut the cabbage itself into small strips. You should not shred it; it is important that the pieces are visible in the dish.
Pour some vegetable oil into a preheated pan, heat it and throw vegetables into it. Fry them until golden brown, stirring occasionally.
Three tomatoes on a grater, and add the resulting puree to the pan to the vegetables. Stir, cover and reduce heat. Instead of fresh tomatoes, you can take 2-3 tbsp. l. tomato paste.
We wash the rice until the water becomes clear, add it to the pan, pour in a glass of water. Salt and pepper the dish and continue to simmer the rice along with vegetables until tender.
Serve the dish hot, garnish with chopped herbs if desired.
