Features of choosing a place for mounting an inflatable pool. Installation nuances, step-by-step instructions, necessary accessories and equipment. Maintenance and minor repairs.
Installation of an inflatable pool is an event that takes a few minutes and, as a rule, does not require the involvement of specialists, since the design is very simple. An exception is the installation of a model with a hydromassage, since you will have to deal with electricity. Further, all the nuances of the workflow.
Preparing a site for an inflatable pool
In the photo there is a platform for an inflatable pool
There is a widespread belief that an inflatable pool can be installed almost anywhere, but this is not entirely true. Despite the fact that the model is compact and portable, you hardly want to rearrange the tank every day, so we approach the issue of site selection responsibly.
How to choose the right place for your inflatable pool:
- This should be a shallow, slightly elevated area, otherwise water will accumulate around the tank during bathing.
- The surface must be flat. Keep in mind that inflatable models do not have a frame, respectively, water presses on all walls, and if there is a slope in the area, the structure will roll over to the edge located on the lower side.
- It is not recommended to place the container on loose soil, sand or clay, otherwise the base will sag after the pool is filled with water and the bottom will be uneven.
- The reservoir should be located near a water source, as creating a water supply for an inflatable model is a ridiculous undertaking.
- When determining the location for the inflatable pool, consider the distance to the electrical outlet to which the pump will be connected.
- Do not place the tank under trees, otherwise leaves and twigs will constantly clog it.
- It is better to choose the site for the installation of the structure sunny. This will heat the water faster. In any case, you can always install an inflatable pool awning if it gets very hot.
- There should be no wind and drafts on the selected site, which threatens with a cold or hypothermia of the muscles.
Before installing the inflatable pool, it is necessary to remove the grass on the site, clean it of stones, branches, roots, leaves and other debris that can damage the PVC canvas. After that, cover the prepared area with sand and tamp it so that it is not loose.
If you decide to put a family inflatable pool on the podium, then it can be made of concrete or wood.
Be sure to place a special soft backing or blanket that comes with the package on the platform to protect the bottom. You will now take off your shoes on a clean surface, which will help the water stay clean for longer.
It is also important to decide in advance where the drain point for the inflatable pool will be. Even a small tank holds a lot of water, so such issues are resolved even before the installation of the structure.
Instructions for installing an inflatable pool in the country

Before installing the inflatable pool, remember to have a pump ready to inflate it. It is not always included in the package.
Along with the inflatable pool, the kit must contain instructions for its installation. It may differ for different models. Therefore, carefully read the information, and you can get to work.
How to install an inflatable pool:
- Free the PVC sheet from the packaging, place it on the prepared area, straighten the sides of the bowl. It is forbidden to drag it with a drag, otherwise damage is possible.
- Fold out the bead ring so that it is on top of the folds and needs to be inflated using a manual or automatic pump. Make sure that the roller does not get pumped, otherwise it may burst. If you purchased a model in an inflatable pool store with several rings around the perimeter, they need to be inflated in turn.
- After inflating the pool, treat it with a disinfectant, rinse with running water and wipe.
- If a filter for an inflatable pool is not included in the package, seal all openings in the structure tightly. If such equipment is available, connect the hoses to the outlet and water supply, and place the device, uncovered, in a dry place.
- You can now fill the reservoir with water. First fill the pool a few centimeters, straighten out any wrinkles formed on the bottom of the pool, make sure the structure is level and the water level is not tilted.
- Then you can fill the tank completely, observing how the walls of the structure rise as the water rises, and the pool takes its shape and stands firmly without any support.
Note! It is not recommended to use river or rainwater to fill the pool.

The inflatable pool model lines are not limited to family or children's bowls, flat or inflatable tanks. You can even find hydromassage inflatable SPA pools on sale, which can be used not only in summer, installed in the yard, but also in winter, if the container is placed indoors.
Installation of such a tank is not difficult, but you should be careful, because you have to deal with electricity. If possible, the assembly of the spa system should still be entrusted to specialists in order to exclude electric shocks and malfunctions. Well, we will provide information for informational purposes only.
First of all, please note that the hydromassage inflatable SPA pool cannot be installed on the second floor if there is a first residential one. The room where the installation of the structure is planned must be well ventilated, and the temperature must be at least + 4 ° C. The floor must be moisture resistant!
How to install the inflatable spa pool:
- Prepare a place for installing the tank, remove debris from the surface, small objects that can damage the canvas.
- Place the mat on the prepared area.
- Remove the product from the packaging, spread the material on the floor and smooth out the wrinkles.
- The pool can now be inflated using the pump. However, keep in mind that you need to leave room for the expanded warm air, otherwise the canvas may burst.
- Next, the control unit should be connected to the pool, which must be grounded.
- At the next stage, the filter is installed to the internal outlet grille.
- They put plugs on the open holes and start filling the pool.
- First, as for the classic model, a little water is collected to make sure there is no slope, then the container is filled completely. To save on electricity, they immediately draw warm water.
- After the installation of the tank, the heater on the block is turned on, which heats the water every hour by 1.5 degrees.
When operating a hydromassage inflatable spa pool, it is important to adhere to safety rules. The structure must work with an open bowl, otherwise the entire system will fail under the influence of warm vapors. Do not heat water above 40 ° C or expose the tank to UV radiation for a long time. Just like other inflatable pools, the hydromassage structure cannot be preserved.
Selection of equipment for an inflatable pool
In the photo, equipment for an inflatable pool
The very first thing you need to operate an inflatable pool is a pump for inflating the bowl. As a rule, it is included in the standard package, but not all filter pumps come with replaceable cartridges, and they do not always cope with water purification perfectly.
When buying a pump for an inflatable pool, keep in mind that the delivered pressure should not exceed the limits permissible for a particular model. This information must be indicated in the instructions for the product.
There are 3 types of such devices:
- Filter cartridge pump … It simultaneously performs the functions of supplying and purifying water from large debris, has a replaceable cartridge. As a rule, it comes in the standard delivery set of inflatable pools.
- Diatom filter pump … Also a multifunctional device for supplying and purifying water. A variety of polymer rocks and sedimentary minerals act as a filtering agent, as a result, you can count on perfectly clear water inside the bowl.
- Sand filter pump … It works on the principle of a cartridge device, however, the water passes through the container where the sand is located.
The latest models are permanently connected to the pump to always maintain the required pressure inside the inflatable pool.
Additional accessories and equipment for inflatable pools are presented in the table:
Name | Description |
Awning | It is needed to cover the tank in order to prevent water evaporation, contamination of the bowl with leaves, branches, dust, midges. The product must completely cover the pool. |
Canopy | Protects bathers from the scorching sun, and the pool itself - from the harmful effects of UV radiation, which reduces the technical characteristics of the PVC canvas. The awning is especially relevant when arranging a pool for children. |
Ladder | Required for pools with side heights from 100 cm and above. In some models it is included in the standard delivery set. |
Water heater | It is necessary for heating water in cloudy weather to maintain comfortable conditions for swimming and games. |
Thermometer | The accessory will help you keep track of the water temperature in the pool where your children swim. Also relevant for adults. |
Water vacuum cleaner | The device will help to clean the pool bowl from various debris, leaves, insects, dust. Equipped with a pull-out handle and a litter bag. |
Maintenance supplies | For manual care of an inflatable pool, cleaning its walls, you will need a net, a brush, and sponges. |
Litter under the bottom | Extends the life of the inflatable pool, can be replaced with a tourist rug or lay a thick mat. |
Chlorine generator | This device produces chlorine ions from table salt, due to which the water in the pool is close to the properties of the sea and is disinfected. Typically, such devices are used in tanks with a large diameter - from 4.5 m. |
Repair kit | Inflatable pool bowl patches for inexpensive and quick repair and minor damage repair. |
Note! The service life of an inflatable pool is determined not only by the initial characteristics of the product, but also by the intensity of use and the quality of care. Depending on these factors, it ranges from 1 month to 5 years.
Inflatable pool maintenance
Without the necessary care, the inflatable pool quickly becomes dirty, leaves, branches, insects, and other debris accumulate in the bowl, and the water becomes cloudy. If not cleaned, slippery green algae appear on the bottom and walls of the tank, the accumulation of microorganisms contributes to the blooming of water. Therefore, it is important to regularly maintain the structure.

Basic rules for the care of an inflatable pool:
- Filtration … As a rule, the design does not include a filter system, so it is bought separately. The best option would be a sand filter that traps particles as small as 20 microns, but some debris still floats on the surface. For more efficient and finer filtration, go for a diatom filter. When using a cartridge filter pump, change the cartridges from time to time.
- Garbage cleaning … Small debris, branches, foliage, midges constantly accumulate on the surface of the water, so it is important to remove all litter in time. To do this, you can use a water vacuum cleaner or a landing net.
- Disinfection … To keep the water in the bowl clean and clear, use a special pool chemistry that kills all harmful bacteria, prevents the growth of germs, fungi, algae, foul odors, and removes sweat and sunscreen from the water. Pool chemicals are sold in the form of tablets, liquids, granules and are added to a reservoir filled with water, which is brushed after dissolving. Depending on the size of your inflatable pool, disinfectants are used 1-2 times a week. In addition, to clean the bowl, you can use a solution of hydrogen peroxide, which is added to the water and left for a day at a temperature of + 28 ° C - during this time it is forbidden to use the pool.
- Water change … Inflatable models allow this event to be carried out quickly and easily. When using special chemicals for cleaning the pool, you should completely replace the water every 2-3 weeks, although the frequency of the procedure depends on the intensity of using the pool and the correct care. If the water becomes cloudy, drain the pool and replace it immediately. If you do not carry out chemical disinfection, you need to drain the water more often, and for small children's pools - daily. It can be used to water the garden, trees, shrubs, flowers, but provided that you do not use chemicals. This procedure can be combined with cleaning the pool bowl from dirt and deposits on its walls.
- Shelter … For this purpose, special lightweight bubble blankets of a floating type are used, they protect the bowl from the ingress of various debris, and the water from evaporation, flowering and cooling at night. For large pools, covers or covers are used, the container is closed immediately after bathing.
Note! The upper inflatable edge of the pool must be pumped up periodically.

The inflatable pool cannot be preserved at the end of the swimming season. It needs to be collected and sent for storage. This is quite simple to do: you just have to pump out the water, wash and blow off the product. Pay particular attention to creases when cleaning the container. Remember not to put pressure on the walls so as not to damage the PVC sheet. Dry, carefully fold the bowl with a minimum number of kinks, it is recommended to store the product in a dry, heated, ventilated place. Additional items should also be dried and packaged.

Inflatable pool repair
Photo of a repair kit for an inflatable pool
Inflatable pools have many advantages, but they are not durable and can be damaged, for example, by contact with a sharp stone, nail, ruptures or punctures are possible. However, damage to the PVC canvas is not a reason to throw away the product; you can always make minor repairs to the inflatable pool with your own hands.
Before starting work, you should determine the reason for the release of air:
- The puncture site can be detected by the characteristic hissing sound; the pool must first be drained and inflated well.
- Pay attention to air bubbles, they indicate the puncture site. But this only applies to cases where damage is in the underwater part of the inflatable pool.
- If there are cuts above the water level or outside the tank, you will have to act differently: run your wet palm over the intended area of the rupture, pressing on the upper ring, the air flow will be stronger at the puncture site.
- If you are dealing with a small children's pool, you can place it in a large water tank and watch where the air bubbles come out.
As a rule, the inflatable pool delivery kit includes a special repair kit consisting of a patch and glue. To glue the product, you first need to clean and degrease the puncture site. Wait until it dries, apply glue to the damaged area of the canvas, and put a patch of a suitable size on top. Press it well and press down with a heavy load. In this position, the canvas should be left for 12-15 hours.
How else to glue the inflatable pool:
- A rubber tube kit, which is used in the same way as the standard product repair kit supplied with the pool;
- A patch made of a piece of PVC, for example, from an old inflatable toy or circle, and glue - cyanoacrylate, polyurethane or other that is not afraid of water;
- "Liquid patch", which is an elastic adhesive, which consists of PVC and active reagents, and after application is mixed with the material of the inflatable pool and forms a strong bond.
Electrical tape and scotch tape are not suitable for repairing an inflatable pool. It is also not recommended to use Moment glue: it damages the PVC fabric.
