Mehendi care is a set of measures aimed at preserving the henna pattern after being applied to the body for the longest possible period. There are many factors that can spoil the image. To prevent this from happening, follow the rules of care immediately after the procedure.

Henna patterns are located on the surface layer of the epidermis - the epithelium, the paint does not penetrate into the deep layers of the skin. Over time, the pigment is removed along with the dead cells, so the mehendi does not last more than 2-3 weeks.
But this period can be extended as much as possible, while maintaining the brightness of the picture. To do this, it is enough to start caring for him from the first minutes after the procedure.
Basic rules for caring for mehendi:
- Do not touch the image immediately after application. Henna-based paint dries within 5-7 minutes. During this period, she should not come into contact with clothes, hair, and other parts of the body. How long the henna pattern lasts depends on whether you can adhere to this rule. To fix the biotat, increase the indicated time up to half an hour.
- If the master has applied a thick layer of henna, leave it on the skin for as long as possible. Ideally, keep the paste on your body overnight or at least 6 hours. During this time, the substance is well absorbed into the skin layers, and the pattern will turn out to be bright and saturated.
- Do not rinse off the paste with water immediately after application. Water is the worst enemy of henna, and there is a risk that the drawing will become pale and barely noticeable.
- Use special oils for curing. They can be purchased at a tattoo parlor or specialized store. How long the henna pattern lasts on the body depends on whether you use natural fixers.
- Cover the image with a mixture of lemon juice and sugar. The product moisturizes the paint and creates a protective layer to seal the design. To prepare the composition, mix a little sugar and lemon juice in a small container to make a viscous liquid. Use a cotton swab to apply it to your skin and leave to dry for a few hours. During this period, try not to touch the image, scratch it, or touch it with clothes or hands.
- Use tissue and tissue wrap. Freshly applied henna dries quickly and crumbles, so it is recommended to wrap the drawing. To do this, attach a piece of paper napkin or damp towel and wrap it in a cotton cloth or bandage. The bandage will prevent drips from sweating, retain moisture and heat, which prolong the "life" of the pattern.
- Avoid contact with water for 4-6 hours after applying mehendi. After the specified time, you can gently wash off the excess dry henna.
- The next day, brush the image with olive or mustard oil. It will fix the pattern and moisturize the skin.
