Pies can be baked in the oven or fried in a pan. The main thing is to prepare the filling correctly and tasty. Otherwise, time and ingredients will be wasted, and spoiled food is an unaffordable luxury.
According to this recipe, cabbage for the filling turns out to be tender, not overcooked, not overcooked, beautiful and tasty. Cooking cabbage filling for pies:
1. Remove the top inflorescences from the cabbage. they are usually dirty. Rinse the head of cabbage under running water and pat dry with a paper towel. Then finely chop it into strips with a sharp knife. Although you can cut the vegetable into small cubes.
2. Peel the carrots and rinse. Then grate it on a coarse grater. To simplify and speed up the work, you can chop vegetables using a food processor with special attachments.
3. Place the frying pan on the stove, add vegetable oil and heat. Put the cabbage to fry. Set to medium heat and cook uncovered until light golden brown. At first it will seem to you that there are a lot of cabbage in the pan, maybe even with a mountain. However, when frying, it will decrease in size by about half.
4. Then add the grated carrots to the pan and mix well. Add vegetable oil as needed, as carrots absorb a lot of fat.
5. With medium heat, fry the vegetables for about 5-7 minutes and add salt, ground pepper and tomato paste to them. Add your favorite spices if desired. Pour in some drinking water, make a high heat and boil. Then reduce the temperature to the minimum setting, close the lid and simmer the cabbage until soft for about half an hour.
6. Use the filling to prepare pies or pies immediately after cooking. By the way, this cabbage can be simply consumed on its own in a slice of bread or boiled puree.
