The simplicity of the recipe lies in the fact that nothing needs to be pre-cooked. It is enough to defrost the purchased dough, and cut the sausage and cheese filling. Ingredients:
- Puff yeast dough - 300 g
- Hard cheese - 150-200 g
- Sausage (dairy, doctoral, smoked, etc.) - 300 g
- Flour - for sprinkling
- Ketchup - 3-4 tablespoons
Step-by-step preparation of envelopes from puff yeast dough with sausage, cheese and ketchup, recipe with photo:
1. Pre-defrost the dough. Do not use a microwave oven for this. Put it at room temperature and it will thaw within an hour. Then dust the work surface and rolling pin with flour to prevent the dough from sticking and roll it into a thin rectangular or square layer.
2. Cut the rolled out dough sheet into 10-12 cm squares.
3. Cut the sausage into cubes, strips, slices or any other shape. Grate the cheese or cut into slices.
4. Apply ketchup to the dough squares. You can spread it over the dough or leave it as it is.
5. Place the sausage on top of the dough.
6. Top with cheese shavings.
7. Lift the edges of the dough to the middle and join well together to form an envelope.
8. Transfer the envelopes to a baking sheet greased with a thin layer of vegetable oil. Brush them with butter, milk or egg yolk so that the baked goods have a golden brown crust when finished.
9. Heat the oven to 180 degrees and send envelopes from puff yeast dough with sausage, cheese and ketchup to bake for 20-30 minutes. Serve the finished puffs to the table after cooling down with freshly brewed tea or coffee.
