For the filling in this recipe, minced pork is used. You can buy any kind of meat, though. It can even be combined with potatoes, carrots, eggplants. The pie will still be satisfying. However, the filling can be anything at all: cabbage, cheese, vegetable, etc. In addition, sweet pies can be cooked in a similar way, and berries or fruits can be taken as a filler. Thin airy dough combined with any filling will always be a win-win for any situation.

Ingredients:

  • Onions - 1 pc.
  • Pork - 800 g

  • Eggs - 1 pc.
  • Garlic - 2 cloves
  • Salt - 0.5 tsp or to taste
  • Ground black pepper - a pinch
  • Ground nutmeg - 0.5 tsp

Step by step preparation of Italian meat snail pie:

1. Wash the meat, peel it from the film and pass it through a meat grinder with medium grates. Peel the onions and twist them as well. Peel the garlic and squeeze through a press. Season the minced meat with salt, ground pepper and ground nutmeg. Mix well.

2. Roll out the filo dough in a rectangular layer very thinly so that the font on the newspaper can be seen through it. 3. Gently roll the dough into a roll.

4. Take a round baking dish and place the minced meat roll on it, rolling it up with a snail.
