Rice is a staple food for many families around the world. This cereal is loved by the Slavic people, the Asian, the Caucasian and many other nations. Until recently, however, only white round grain or long grain rice was known. But now on the shelves of stores you can find many other varieties of it. Recently, red rice has become especially popular. This is the healthiest type of rice of all types. This is due to the fact that it is not polished, which retains a large amount of fiber, a maximum of vitamins, minerals and amino acids. In addition, the remaining bran shell during heat treatment perfectly retains the shape of the grains and gives a pleasant nutty flavor.
Another benefit of red rice is that it is a powerful antioxidant. With its regular consumption in the body, you can reduce the concentration of free radicals and the likelihood of developing cancer, especially breast and colon cancer. And paratsionids, give rice a characteristic red tone, which has a great effect on the skin - reduces pigmentation, increases elasticity and reduces the depth of wrinkles. Dietary fiber improves peristalsis, normalizes digestion and does not make you feel hungry for a long time.

How to cook red rice
1. Sort red rice. To do this, sprinkle the grains on a clean table, separate a little and distribute in one layer. Remove the debris, set the rice aside and re-sort the next portion.
2. Pour rice into a sieve and rinse under running water.
3. Rinse it several times to make the water clear.
4. Transfer the beans to a heavy-bottomed cooking pot and add salt.
5. Fill the cereal with hot water 2 fingers above the level.
6. Place the pot on the stove, turn on the gas over a high heat and wait for the water to boil. After using a spoon, remove the formed foam from the surface of the liquid, reduce the temperature and cook the rice for about 40 minutes. As a result, the liquid will disappear completely, and the grains will become soft.
7. Steep the cooked rice for 5 minutes. After the meal, transfer to a plate and serve. You can use it with butter or vegetable oil. It goes well with fish, mushrooms, poultry, vegetables. It is also served as a stand-alone sweet dish with dried fruits and milk. It will also be especially tasty if sprinkled with citrus juice: lemon or lime before serving.
Notes:
- During and after cooking, the rice does not stick together, but remains crumbly.
- If it is pre-soaked before cooking, the cooking time will be reduced, while in finished form it will become lighter.
- Ready food is stored in a container with a lid in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
