Oven baked meatballs with rice in tomato-sour cream sauce can be classified as the most popular recipes. After all, meat dishes are present in the diet of almost every family. Someone prefers juicy steaks, someone simply cannot imagine their life without barbecue, someone bakes or boils meat with spices, but minced meat products are most common - meatballs, cabbage rolls, cutlets. The demand is explained by the simplicity of preparation, the availability of necessary products, satiety and versatility. We want to teach you how to cook delicious meatballs with rice. Meatballs are combined with any side dish, although they can be served as an independent dish.
They are often confused with cutlets, but the difference is also quite significant. Firstly, meatballs are always round, not flattened. Secondly, if they are breaded, then only in flour, and not in bread crumbs. Thirdly, they consist not only of minced meat, but almost always have cereals in their composition (rice, millet, pearl barley, etc.). And meatballs are always stewed and always served with sauce, and more often right in it.

Step by step cooking meatballs with rice in tomato-sour cream sauce baked in the oven
1. Peel the onion, chop finely. Grate the carrots on a fine grater, lightly simmer in a frying pan (it is possible with onions). Pour rice with cold water, let stand a little, rinse, boil until half cooked and cool. Place all ingredients in an easy-to-mix bowl or plate.
2. Add minced meat. Ideal if you use one prepared yourself, but store-bought, if you are sure of the manufacturer, will also work.
Advice! Before sculpting meatballs, beat the minced meat on the table several times. This simple technique will make the finished dish more fluffy and help the ingredients used to complement each other's taste and aroma.
3. For the sauce, mix tomato paste (you can use ketchup) and sour cream, add salt and spices to taste.
4. Mold meatballs with wet hands, put them in a baking dish. You can pre-fry on both sides, but then the dish will not be so tender.
5. Pour the cooked sauce over.
6. Put in an oven preheated to 180 degrees, bake for 30-50 minutes. Focus on the readiness of the rice.
7. Meatballs with rice in tomato-sour cream sauce baked in the oven are ready. They can be served as an independent dish, or they can be supplemented with mashed potatoes, porridge, or fresh vegetable salad.
