How to make a delicious tomato and ketchup gravy step by step
Wash the meat under running water, dry it with a cotton towel and cut into small pieces.
Wash tomatoes, peel them. To do this, we make shallow cuts on the "crown" of each tomato to make a cross. Dip vegetables in boiling water for 10 seconds. Then remove the tomatoes with a slotted spoon and put them in a bowl of cold water. Now it will be very easy to skin the tomatoes.
Pour a couple of tablespoons of vegetable oil into a preheated pan and put pieces of meat in it. Soon, a lot of liquid will come out of the meat. Wait until it is all evaporated and let the meat fry, quite a bit, until the sides are golden brown.
Cut the tomatoes into small pieces, chop the onions in half rings and add to the pan to the meat. Stir, fry for about 7 minutes, until the onions become transparent and the tomatoes let the juice out.
Add the ketchup, stir the contents of the pan, cover, reduce the heat and simmer for 20-30 minutes, until the meat and vegetables are very soft. If you want the meat gravy to be thinner, you can add half a glass of water or meat stock to it.
Appetizing, very aromatic and, believe me, a truly hearty meat sauce is ready! Serve it with any side dish.
Delicious meat sauce with tomatoes and ketchup will make a wonderful duet with porridge, potatoes or rice. It can be served hot or chilled. An excellent result for the dining table. Bon Appetit!
