But in order not to waste money in vain, not to get a disastrous result, and not to take up space in the freezer, you should know how to properly freeze boiled asparagus for the winter.

Asparagus beans are unripe green pods of common sugar beans. They are successfully used in salads, main courses and soups. Asparagus is a low-calorie vegetable, therefore it is recommended for dietary meals. Only young green pods are suitable for freezing. They should be so soft that the shutters can be cut with a fingernail, and small grains are in the stage of milky ripeness. Unripe blades (pods) lack the parchment layer, and there are practically no fibers that make the pods rough and indigestible. For this reason, asparagus bean dishes are delicious, tender and nutritious. It is ideal for harvesting to use your own crop from the garden. But if this is not the case, then a vegetable purchased on the market will do. The main thing is to make sure that the beans are young.

1. Sort the asparagus beans by removing diseased, deformed and overripe shoulder blades. Wash it under running cold water.

2. Place the asparagus in a saucepan, cover with water and bring to a boil. Reduce the temperature to the lowest setting and cook for 5 minutes with the lid closed.

3. Put the boiled pods over a sieve and leave to glass with water. On both sides, cut off the ends with scissors (or tear off with your hands) the ends and cut the pods into 2-3 parts, depending on the size, so that in the future it is convenient to use them in cooking.

4. Place the pods on a plank or dry, clean cotton towel to dry completely.

5. Place the asparagus in a plastic freezer bag that can hold as many pods as you need for a single meal. Asparagus cannot be re-frozen. Remove air from the bag and send the beans to the freezer. Freeze it at a temperature not exceeding -18 degrees. To make it freeze faster, turn on the "fast" freeze mode. Store frozen boiled asparagus in the freezer for the winter until next season.
