Making condensed milk at home
1. Pour milk into a heavy-bottomed cooking pot. Add sugar and butter. Condensed milk will boil and rise, so choose a larger pan so that it does not run out.
2. Place the saucepan on the stove over medium heat.
3. Boil milk. Stir to melt the butter and dissolve the sugar.
4. Make a medium heat and boil the condensed milk for about an hour, until the desired consistency. At the same time, stir constantly with a whisk throughout the cooking time.
5. During cooking, the condensed milk will become viscous and thick.
6. Place the pot in a bowl of cold water to cool.
7. Then send the condensed milk to the refrigerator for complete cooling. Keep in mind that when it hardens, it will become even thicker and denser than you removed it from the heat. Consider this when boiling it down.
8. Transfer the finished condensed milk to a glass jar and keep in the refrigerator. It can be used for the same purposes as a purchased product.
