Lard sandwiches are delicious tidbits that are perfect as an aperitif or as a snack. There are many recipes for lard sandwiches, where lard is supplemented with all kinds of additional products. This article is devoted to describing a simple recipe for a sandwich with lard, mustard and tomatoes. This is a great option for dinner, snack or lunch addition to the first course. The sandwiches are prepared by analogy with Italian bruschetta with tomatoes, but unlike the original, they do not contain Italian herbs. It turns out that the appetizer is healthy, tasty and aromatic, because mustard and herbs are present, and if desired, you can add garlic to the sandwich.
The choice of the bakery product remains with the hostess. You can take a regular wheat baguette, rye bread, use ciabatta, bran loaf, etc. Even lavash will do. The sandwich can be made hot and the bread can be pre-dried in toast, oven or dry skillet. Any lard can be used: salted, raw, with meat slots, smoked, etc. Such sandwiches can be prepared not only for everyday meals, they will help out perfectly on the road, in nature, a picnic … Moreover, it will not be difficult to prepare them. Ingredients:
- Bread - 1 slice
- Mustard - 1 tsp without top
- Greens (any) - several branches
- Lard - 50 g
- Tomatoes - 0, 5 pcs.
Step-by-step preparation of a sandwich with lard, mustard and tomatoes, recipe with photo:
1. Cut the bread into slices no more than 1 cm thick. The ideal size is 0.8 mm. Brush the bread with a thin layer of mustard.
2. Wash the tomatoes, dry with a paper towel and cut into medium-sized wedges or half rings. Place the tomatoes on top of the mustard-oiled bread. You can put chopped garlic on top of the tomatoes.
3. Wash greens under running water and dry with a cotton towel. Tear off the leaves and place them on top of the tomatoes.
4. Cut the bacon into thin slices and place an overlap on top of all products. A sandwich with bacon, mustard and tomatoes is ready and you can serve it to the table.
