This vegetable serves as an excellent enhancer of the flavors of soup, borscht, various sauces and gravy, side dishes. In most cases, it is used only as an additional ingredient. An excellent seasoning is made from it. It turns out quite interesting with pizza and Greek salad. But the most popular dish is definitely Chepotle, originally from Mexico. The product is easily combined with onions, carrots, potatoes, meat, mushrooms and any fish.

This is how the most common recipes with the product look like:

  1. Chepotle … To prepare it, you will need 1 kg of red fruits that are already overripe. They are collected or bought 1-2 days before use, washed and soaked for 6-9 hours. After that, the tails are removed and the vegetables are sent to the grill installed on the grill. The fire at this time should already be extinguished, you will only need smoke from embers. It is on it that pepper is smoked for 3-5 hours, turning it over every 20-30 minutes. When it is ready, it is rewound at the top with a thread and hung to dry 1-2 meters above the floor in a dark place without increased moisture.
  2. Stuffed … Your initial task is to grate the hard cheese (200 g) and chop the bacon (150 g). Next, you should cleanse raw pepper (0.5 kg) from seeds, wash it and fill it with the prepared mixture, pre-salted and seasoned with sour cream (2 tbsp. L.). Then the vegetables are laid out on a greased baking sheet and sent to the oven. They take them out after 20-30 minutes, when they are covered with a slightly golden crust.
  3. Marinated … First of all, wash, cut in half and peel 1 kg of pepper. Meanwhile, combine bay leaf (3 pcs.), Sugar (1 tbsp. L.), Salt (1 tsp. L.), Apple or wine vinegar (5 tbsp. L.) And cooled boiled water (1.5 l.) … Now pour the marinade on the vegetables, laid out in glass jars, previously washed and sterilized. On top, add dill and a clove of garlic on an umbrella, roll up the containers and put them in a cool place. This kind of salad can be consumed after a week.
  4. Snack bar … Here you should grind Philadelphia cheese (150 g) in mashed potatoes, grind cilantro and parsley (10 g each) in a meat grinder, as well as washed, peeled pepper (0, 6 g). Now grate 3 boiled eggs, combine them with salt, 1 tsp. crackers and other ingredients. Roll balls from the resulting mass, which you need to put on a large flat plate and decorate with dill. This is just a great dish for snacking on alcoholic drinks!
  5. Chicken wings … They will need about 700 g, which are required to soak in the marinade 1-2 hours before cooking (20 ml of lemon juice + 30 ml of apple cider vinegar + 1 liter of water and a pinch of salt). Next, the meat is taken out and dried, after which it is combined with chopped slices of dried jalapeno peppers. It will need about 200 g in green. Then all this is transferred into a deep saucepan, seasoned with garlic (3 cloves), oregano (1 g) and tomato paste (50 ml). Then add water, which needs enough to completely cover the wings. At the end, they are put to stew on low heat, after 50 minutes they are turned off and served directly in gravy with mashed potatoes, pasta and any other main dishes.

Jalapeno tastes quite spicy, so you shouldn't add black pepper as well. If your mouth is very hot, just drink a little water. This product can be stored in the refrigerator for weeks, but its "lifespan" can be increased by drying, canning or smoking.

This vegetable is traditionally the most popular in Mexican cuisine; almost no sauce is prepared here without it. Locals serve it along with pizza, cheese, meat, fish. It is precisely this that Mexicans use most often.

At one time, the fame of the fruits of the plant reached the American astronauts. In 1982, they were the first to take them into space with them. When choosing a vegetable, it is recommended to pay attention to its appearance - the peel should be smooth, even, without stains and violation of integrity. Red fruits are bought for smoking and preservation, and green ones for the purpose of preparing various dishes and eating them raw.

This pepper is less known in the CIS than chili, as it is practically not grown here. Such disregard is due to its "obstinate nature" - it requires exceptional black soil, warm climate, low humidity.

The seeds of the fruit are also quite edible, but too sharp and hard. They are usually used to prepare decoctions and infusions for the treatment of colds.

Jalapeno pepper is the leader in terms of water content, despite the fact that the carbohydrates in its peel are the minimum amount. Thanks to this, it is almost impossible to recover from it, but the appetite is suppressed instantly.

It is hardly realistic to find such an exotic vegetable in the markets, if it is sold in Eastern Europe, then only in supermarkets, where it is supplied from other countries.
