Step by step cooking catfish steaks in foil in the oven, recipe with photo:
1. Since steaks are usually sold frozen in our supermarkets, defrost them first. This should be done correctly, in a natural way, without the use of a microwave oven and hot water. In advance, for example, in the evening, remove the fish from the freezer and leave it on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator. The steaks will be thawed by the next evening. Slow defrosting will retain all the vitamins, flavor and texture of the meat in the fish.
Then rinse the carcass under running water and dry well with a paper towel. Cut a piece from a roll of foil so that it is 2 times the size of the fish itself, and put the catfish on it.
2. Wipe the fish from all sides with ground coriander and salt.
3. Then rub it with fish seasoning and black pepper. If you wish, you can sprinkle it with lemon juice and leave it for half an hour for the fish to absorb the taste and aroma of the spices.
4. Tuck the foil on both sides to cover the steak.
5. Fold the foil over the other two edges to form an envelope.
6. Transfer the foil-wrapped catfish steaks to a baking sheet and place in a preheated oven to 180 degrees. Cook the fish for 25-30 minutes. Serve it to the table right in the foil, because after baking, a delicious juice will collect in it, in which you can dip the pieces of fish. If you will not serve the dish right away, then do not unfold the catfish from the foil. Since the foil will keep the temperature of the food for a long time.
